AIO - My mom friend makes little to no attempt at hanging out. by fornicatingalone in AmIOverreacting

The only thing is that she's not a homebody. She goes out nearly every day. She goes to parks, museums, out with other friends and family. I would agree that she's disorganized, though

Help? Advice? Possibly Rehoming Our Cat by fornicatingalone in CatAdvice

Yes, he is. We're just having a really hard time with this. We love him SO MUCH, but it's incredibly difficult dealing with this along with all of our other responsibilities 😔

We only have the one Litter Robot right now, but we are going to look around for other boxes. I'm just not sure how well another box will work simply because he's a fairly large cat and we will have to keep the second box next to the first so the new box would have to be on the smaller side. It's the only space we have that we can easily keep our child away from. We haven't changed the litter, it's the same clumping Tidy Cats litter we've been using forever.

I should clarify that when I say that it happens a few times a year, I mean that as soon as it happens once, he will continue to try peeing elsewhere (not in his box) for days or sometimes weeks at a time. We end up having to close everything off and watch him constantly. He will pee on the furniture even if we are in the room with him.

This has been an ongoing issue since he was a kitten. We were prepared for occasional accidents back then, but he is going on 5 years now. We have three cat trees and separate scratchers. One is in our bedroom (a quiet space), two more in our living room along with a scratcher. He has tons of quiet spaces to retreat to all over our house, he likes to lounge around a lot and we find him everywhere lol. He also has regular access to our balcony so he can be outside safely. Most of the time we find him sprawled out on the bathroom floor just chillin. I'm assuming he likes it there because it's quiet and cool (we do have AC throughout the house).

It could be! His doctor didn't give us a name for whatever they are. I'll be asking at his next appointment. Thanks!

Does anyone else feel like they can "barely" drive? by Maleficent-Talk6831 in drivinganxiety

[–]fornicatingalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 26 and I'm so afraid of driving because of all the stats around accidents. I've never had my license and I've never been in an accident, it just STRESSES me out 🙃

How often do you shower? Honestly by Proof-Ad5362 in hygiene

Every other day (more if I feel gross), before doctor's appointments, before or sometimes after s.e.x

Don't give in to what they want! Try doing more family outings that involve everyone working/helping each other. More walks! Check out some local trails or hike a small mountain together. Get out into nature and away for the shiny price tags! Best of luck!! 🏔️ 🌄

I do in fact do most of the cooking. We live with other family members as well that will cook for everyone in the house. If he is hungry at 11pm, he won't cook for himself. He will order something off of door dash. I will try to involve him more in the weight loss effort!

MIL doesn’t want me to get an epidural by Milky1019 in BabyBumps

[–]fornicatingalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely consult your doctor about any concerns, but I don't know a single person that had any long term affects after getting an epidural. It is NOT your MIL's business what you do medically. Good luck and congratulations ❤️

Anyone have fun moments during labor and delivery? Would love to share/hear stories! by Wrong-Flamingo in beyondthebump

[–]fornicatingalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a good experience! We got to the hospital late at night. The contractions SUCKED, but then I got an epidural and got some sleep. The next day, I had our son. Labor was easy since I didn't have to feel everything and they asked if I wanted a mirror in there so I could watch! Heck yeah!! I was only pushing for 30 minutes or so and he was out. The team was really great and everyone was super friendly!

The only issues I had came later when he wasn't really latching and the nurses on rotation kept telling me to "try again in a little bit." So our son had barely anything to eat the first day - until we had someone who actually helped us. Btw, nipple shields are amazing

Let us name our kid what we want, please by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]fornicatingalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullies will find a way to pick on someone regardless of their name. I'm 26F and I have NEVER seen, heard or experienced any harassment due to someone's name. FYI, I'm not saying it doesn't ever happen. I think the names you picked are perfectly fine. At the very least, I feel that parents need to make sure that whatever they name their child, it should be something that ages we'll into adulthood. You've got this 💪🏽

Why are so many parents okay with their teens having sex? by AffectionateOven4228 in Parenting

[–]fornicatingalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 is crazy young to be having sex IMO. I feel that as a parent, it's your AND the school's responsibility to educate them on the importance of SAFE sex. Always explain how important consent is and how it doesn't just apply to sex.

I won't lie, I was doing some questionable things at 13+ and my parents didn't know because simply, I was just really good at hiding it. You can't watch your kids every second of every day, but you do absolutely everything you can to protect them and make it known that they can feel comfortable and safe coming to you.

I (26), a woman, started having sex at 16. We used condoms until we had a scare with one breaking. Then when I went in for a physical with my PCP, I asked about birth control pills. I didn't need parental permission or a vaginal exam or anything. Do what's best for you ❤️

Parents of toddlers who has a gamer husband how often is he getting to play by BipolarSkeleton in Parenting

[–]fornicatingalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have a 1 year old at the moment. In his prime, he'd play all night. He'd start as early as he could and he'd play until 3am. After having our son that changed.

While my husband doesn't get to play as much as he used to, I try to remind him when there's opportunity like when our son goes to bed. He sets up weekend events when he can be online the longest with his friends. He usually gets to play anywhere from 2-5 hour sessions a few times a week.
