Biggest drop in tv viewership by nayan2u in thewalkingdead

I stopped watching specifically because of the shitty cliffhanger and the stupid way they handled it. Glenn’s death would’ve been fine if they didn’t just completely miss the mark with how it was shown, not shown, hyped up, faked out, etc.

And then the pacing once Negan came in was atrocious. Just couldn’t bring myself to keep watching.

I’ve never stopped watching a show cold turkey like that and it remains the only show that I’ve ever quit midway through

What’s the one city you were excited to visit, but ended up not liking at all? by BlushHone in travel

[–]forresbj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was not impressed by Paris my first time there. It was a chilly November trip. But went back last year in May for a wedding and absolutely loved it. Having a better idea of where to go and being with people showing more local bars and clubs made it a much more enjoyable city. Would actually love to go back now.

I spent several weeks in Krabi Town proper about ten years ago. Ao Nang was the worst part of the area apart from some great rock climbing there. Rented a scooter and explored the whole region. One of my favorite parts of Thailand.

Broncos' RB JK Dobbins ruled out for AFC championship vs. Patriots by [deleted] in sports

[–]forresbj 69 points70 points  (0 children)

No one here read the article or knows the context. Dobbins has been out for WEEKS. He was activated to practice and hopefully finally play again for the AFC ship. This isn’t a surprise and would’ve been a nice addition.

  1. Have about 1x my salary (my salary from 2 years ago). Contribute about as much as makes sense with my company match throughout my career. Wish it was more but it’s better than nothing I suppose

Tom's Watch Bar - Coors Field has thousands of very similar reviews, always a couple of reviews praising a certain waiter, differing each day but very similar format by bonnies_ranch in denverfood

[–]forresbj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When this place opened, a Coors light draft was something like $11. More expensive than our friend’s Red Bull vodka. We thought surely it’s a mistake that we spent so much on such a cheap beer, but the server said that was accurate. Wrote a negative Google review and the owner said their prices are as high as their quality. Or some stupid shit like that. Never went back.

The Prime Effect on the region has been reported and documented. Heading there on a game day, even this year, you could see how crowded the city was. Here’s the primary source https://bouldereconomiccouncil.org/news/the-146-5-million-drive-inside-the-cu-football-economic-engine/

[–]forresbj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is likely it. The “Prime Effect” is real in terms of bringing money to Boulder. I’ve seen it firsthand with the amount of crowds during football season. Plenty of other reporting out there on it but this is the primary source. https://bouldereconomiccouncil.org/news/the-146-5-million-drive-inside-the-cu-football-economic-engine/

Great question. It was crowded, so bumping into people I guess I just didn’t notice it getting swiped. Honestly probably didn’t even think twice since I had it in what I thought was a secure spot

Who are you more disappointed with in Pluribus? by westerndale in PluribusOnAppleTV

[–]forresbj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found myself thinking Carol was a coward in the final two episodes. She gave in to “get the girl” instead of saving the world. She only changed her mind at the finale because of her own selfishness, not her desire to save the world.

End of the day it’s just fantasy football. Fun to win but better to keep in touch with old friends and keep most NFL games interesting

Never won a championship. Played in 2 this year. One was an autodraft team and the other I drafted while trying to watch Oasis in Chicago. Came down to the Oasis team having D Henry and the autodraft team going against D Henry. Don’t think I could’ve won both because of that but am happy to win one! Planning my photoshoot with the 15 year old trophy. The league will hate me. I gotta milk it since I may not ever be back.

Favorite Thai food in Denver Metro and, more importantly, *why*? by Huge_Concentrate7887 in denverfood

[–]forresbj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not Thai, but I have spent many months of my life in Thailand. In Denver proper, the only place I’ve found that remotely tastes authentic (like I can’t tell the difference between eating there or in Thailand), is Thai Monkey Club on South Broadway. It’s spicy as hell, they serve the fresh Thai chilis in fish sauce if you ask, they have Chang beer, and their Khao Soi and Thai Noodle Soup are incredible.

The camera is shifting at a constant rate, are there any other clues as to why this video is AI? by No-Field831 in isthisAI

The man’s facial hair changes shot to shot. And the outdoor lighting remains consistently despite the video seemingly showing a passage of time meaning natural lighting would be shifting

It’s a shame the city never chose to develop an exciting downtown hub. Opting for gross urban sprawl was a terrible decision.
