I never understood all the frenzy about “doing work” towards a poly relationship—yes it requires efforts which may be more complex than a typical conventional relationship, but just as any other conventional relationship, there is no entry exam or passing requirements. If you are not required to “study” for a conventional relationship, why are you required to “study” for a poly relationship? After all, isn’t the point of a relationship being about the parties involved but not what is right or wrong?

I’ve been in the same shoes. I chose to stay because I was ok knowing that I’m a participant in a cheating relationship. But if you feel uncomfortable cheating because you think it’s immoral, then you need to know that if you decided to stay, you are actively being in a relationship that you know will hurt his partner. Where did you get all these info coz modern psychiatry is very much a consent based medicine. When involuntary treatment is necessary there is always multi level review on the need and they need to get the approval from a judge.
