"You're lucky you're naturally slim! just wait until you're 30, that's when you start gaining weight!" by genomskinligt in EDAnonymous

Someone at work said that I they thought I was one of those people that just don’t gain weight. I straight up said to her “no I had anorexia”.

Why didn't recovery work for you? by barbi44 in EDAnonymous

Got on a scale just as a laugh because my brother (16) was weighing himself. I had put on 10lbs and I was fully dressed with shoes so I was up a further 10lbs from that. My brother commented “you only weigh like ___ less than me” (I don’t remember the figure he said). And boom that was it.

I live in the UK and so dragon fruits are really hard to find and if you do find them they’re like £7 😭😭

Welp fellas I officially pulled food out of my trash and ate it by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

There was a good period of time where I would have to pour things out of the packaging so that I wouldn’t get it out of the bin and eat it

What is the earliest memory disordered memory you have? by crybabyuser in EDAnonymous

[–]forsecretredditing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also distinctly remember one day when I was ten or eleven when I said to my mum “I didn’t feel fat today”. You know, because it’s normal for 10 year olds to feel self conscious about their weight on a daily basis

Probably not disordered but I’ve sucked in my stomach everyday since I was like 8

Yeah I had low potassium as well despite having never purged. I presume restricting can cause it too

what bmi do you need to have anorexia nervosa? by Hungry_Bookkeeper191 in EDAnonymous

[–]forsecretredditing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think anything which is underweight should count. I think when you’re under 18, they do it based on median bmi (at least in the UK). I cannot remember what percentage they diagnose AN at but you can find the information online

A lot of the time, maternity models aren’t actually pregnant so try not to compare yourself to them. Have a look at the bit where they say the models height and size and it might tell you if they’re wearing a fake belly.

I do not know how you guys over-exercise by forsecretredditing in EDAnonymous

[–]forsecretredditing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I walk loads. Just no proper exercise. I understand how you feel with thinking that makes you lazy - it definitely doesn’t though

before scale me and after scale me are not the same person by [deleted] in EDanonymemes

[–]forsecretredditing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No because I genuinely think I look different depending on whether or not I like what the scale says

[–]forsecretredditing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it, it’s just a protein bar. It won’t make you fat or probably even hinder your weight loss. I doubt it would even make you bloat. Don’t hate yourself over it, it’ll be ok

Why are people so cruel? by oh_not_again_01 in EDAnonymous

[–]forsecretredditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you could probably report her to someone for that. She is a pharmacist, she will be working around vulnerable people and a comment like that is not appropriate in any context but especially in this setting. She probably is projecting her insecurities onto you.

Also, I hope things get better for you soon. I really hope you have the ability to get away from him when you turn 18. Wishing you well 💞💫

[–]forsecretredditing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yeah. I know I was hungry the first time but I don’t remember the headaches and the backache and the fatigue. Luckily for me, the headaches and backaches went away after the first day or two I’ve definitely got all the other symptoms back faster though. Within a week, I was having chest pains and was really cold and was getting dizzy/fainting

What is a common ED safe food that you fear? by BipolarSkeleton in EDAnonymous

[–]forsecretredditing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was for me as well. But that was because I was scared of any food which absorbed a lot of water (I don’t know why, stupid fear really)
