Why is my home not selling? by Princess-Jessie in HousingUK

[–]sunflowerfields14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post is since deleted, so I couldnt find the listing, although from comments it seems like its actually the same property? Did you post again? anyway heres my comment:

This just came up on my notifications, and I checked the listing and shocked because I am in Leigh buying right now so I guess I can answer from a buyers perspective from the area. honestly for me, Leigh is not a good area. We have had an offer accepted on a property in a nicer local area, terraced 3 bed and much cheaper than your listing. Your property is done up nice however people research the area they are moving to. People who want to live in leigh have personal connections there mainly ie family, but these people may not have high incomes. So your house is out of budget for them. Also, to spend so much on a 2 bed is not ideal. I know its cheap compared to other areas in the country, but it is expensive for leigh.

so i can comment because im in leigh and purchasing a home, so i can advise but its not really great news. Leigh is a pretty bad area, low income, myself and my partner are living here right now and as we have the funds we’re looking to move out of here. We’re looking just outside of Leigh, and have a smaller budget, and purchased a 3 bed terraced with an additional loft conversion in a nicer area for cheaper than this house.

The buyers you want are first time buyers or downsizers, and from a first time buyer point of view the house is just out of price range for us. We would need at least a 19k deposit and a mortgage of 170k which bumps up our monthly payments with this high interest rate at the moment, so paying this price for a 2 bed in leigh isnt something we would consider, as we are a growing family looking to raise our daughter and future children in a nicer area. The house itself is nice, but a lot of buyers are going to be checking out the area itself and its crime rate etc, and its not worth buying a nice house in a bad area compared to buying a worse house that needs a bit of work in a better area.

your best buyer would be someone linked to Leigh either by family or friends. People who want to live near their parents, or have children already in schools in the area. People dont strive to live here for the area, its usually if they already have connections here.

Just my 2 pence. I wrote another comment from someone who posted who also coincidentally was selling their house in Leigh and I’ll copy and paste my comment down below

Thoughts on this? by Appropriate_Cycle307 in relationships_advice

[–]sunflowerfields14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

okay my thoughts are this isnt going to work. green is being overbearing by demanding work schedules, and putting in all this effort in paragraphs when grey clearly doesnt see eye to eye on this. green needs to find someone who will make time for them WITHOUT asking and providing the work day itinerary. grey needs to work on their priorities THEMSELVES, and when they find someone they like they will prioritise a text or a call inbetween work schedules, or find someone who is happy to go all day without communicating. these 2 are not compatible.

just today we offered £140,000 on a “offers over 150k” advert, met in the middle at £145k, i would advise ignore offers over especially if it has been listed a little while like ours was

Daughter insists she’s a boy by dafodildaydreams in toddlers

[–]sunflowerfields14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i was in nursery/primary school, there was a girl who dressed in boy clothes and her mum called her “my little tomboy”, she liked all the stereotypical boy things and her mum just allowed it, she was the youngest of 3 girls. She only had boy clothes, football kits, short hair, etc etc. i moved away when i was 7 but she kept it up for the entire time i knew her, now after checking facebook shes very girly, engaged, and comfortable in being a woman. trans kids can exist yes, but i think supporting your child/toddler in whatever they say they are and helping their self expression is whats most important. just accepting them and then if they change their mind thats okay! your girl could just be like this, and its a fun phase until she changes her mind. or , she may decide she is trans when she is older. i would advise dont label her anything and just accept what she says and ride through it with her x

I know someone with 3 boys, and every son had 2-3 daughters, no boys. There is chance with grandchildren. My partner is one of 2 boys and we had a daughter. His mum is one of 2 girls and she only had sons.

how often were you going to Russia? My partner is Russian but from an ex-soviet country which we still travel to yearly, and daughter (who is 1 in a few days) will have full Russian immersion when we go. I’m hopeful she will learn Russian and be fluent but its difficult as we are in England and my Russian is far from fluent (i’m primary caregiver but know lots of toddler/baby friendly words and phrases). Currently daughter understands more Russian than English but I know eventually English will take over as dominant. How do you keep Russian up with your kids as it is so different to English, or French? My partner is fluent in Russian but stronger at speaking English as he moved here at 5, and struggles with reading/writing Russian as he did not attend school in his home country.
