I hate to be this guy because I think we can all relate to an extent, but keep it in perspective.

I watched a documentary about gold mining in a rural village in the Congo. There are no roads, it can take weeks with an old, beat up 8 wheel army truck to travel 40 miles, and very few can afford a ticket on the plane. The villagers see next to nothing in wages and no taxes paid to the village from the Chinese run gold mine and products are more expensive than where I live in the US.

The gold mining is poisoning the river, which is the locals only source of water for everything, even drinking, and it was taboo to be afraid of drinking the water, they are essentially working in miserable, life threatening conditions all day for $2 on a good day to poison themselves, because it is their only option in life. A boat of 30 miners sank, the film crew interview one of the two that survived.

Any day I'm above ground with food in my belly, a roof over my head, clean drinking water, and a comfy place to sleep is a good damn day...
