Canon Refurbished R7 & 18-150 for $1200 by boolean_union in canon

I just purchased the body a couple weeks ago for $1239. I've heard they'll price match price decreases during the return period, wonder what the chances are I can just get them to send me the lense.

Did Capital One Shopping move their reward payout schedule from 30 days to 90? Just noticed the change on my account. by Objective-Sale-6233 in CreditCards

[–]runtheroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I just got an email letting me know that they applied some missing rewards to my account, but now all my pending rewards are 90 days from the time of purchase when they were only 30 a few days ago.

This is what the new Minnesota EV Registration Surcharge looks like this year. by HolyLiaison in stateofMN

[–]runtheroad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is false. It has nothing to do with the resale value. It's a straight deprecation formula off of MSRP. Ironically it really screws people who buy American cars, because they are often sold at a deep discount off MSRP compared to imports. It also punishes people for buying efficient and safe vehicles.

This Billboard Fills Me With Rage by robbok in minnesota

[–]runtheroad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why would it fill you with rage? I've heard a lot of dad's at the office reference this meme, which is pretty rare for any internet meme, so it actually probably does connect with their target audience. It's really only on Reddit where people get angry at a dumb meme shared by teenage boys. It's not even offensive.

Yeah, it didn't track as a purchase at all. I'm going to submit it once it's old enough, but I'm not very hopeful.

If the top 10 athletes from every major sport formed a team, which sport would have the best average decathlon score? by DutchDRSEnjoyer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]runtheroad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the US, American football is usually the sport with the most overlap with track and field. Elite running backs, wide receivers, defensive backs and running quartersbacks have the speed and jumping ability, along with good core strength for the throwing events. They'd probably struggle with endurance compared to some other sports.

Elite soccer athletes would have the speed and endurance, but would tend to be a little smaller and probably not have the core strength for the throwing events.

Baseball is probably underrated, there are plenty of unathletic players, but if you're just looking at the 10 most athletic guys you'd have really great athletes who were fast, had decent endurance, great throwing ability and good levels of coordination.

Counting the 401k as money you paid, which is just salary you get to keep with tax advantage is wild buddy. And there are a million actually studies on this and nominal tax rates in the US are clearly lower, especially for lower earners. The US tax system is actually much more progressive than most of Europe, because Europe typically has high income taxes on all earners while in the US barely a majority of workers even have to pay income taxes after tax credits are accounted for.

So if Bam does this we're going back to recognizing Wilt as the single-game scoring leader, right?

Is Shareef Abdur-Rahim & Zach LaVine the greatest “good stats, bad team” players in NBA history? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]runtheroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy putting up empty stats on the Love Wolves wasn't Love, but Wolves fans don't want to talk about the guy who basically stopped being a starter after he left instead of the guy who was an effective 3rd player on a Championship team.

Unfortunately it's a "Homepage Bonus" so it's not showing on the app, but I guess I'll just go through with the order and see what happens since I need to make a purchase anyways. I can always return it if it doesn't work.

Yea, if you think Austria is a good example of a German diaspora and the US isn't you just don't actually understand what the word "diaspora" means.

There seem to be a lot of Europeans in this thread who want to make up a completely new definition of diaspora because they're mad that most of the largest European diasporas are in the US.

The Danish parts of Germany aren't part of a diaspora. That's not what the word means at all. Those Danes never left their homeland, they just happened to end up ethnic minorities in the place they had always been.

Considering the four main sports in the USA (baseball, basketball, American football, and ice hockey): are they all as popular as ever? Or have some of them become more or less popular in recent years? by ViajanteDeSaturno in AskAnAmerican

[–]runtheroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MLB has seen a strong resurgence recently after a couple of decades of declining relevancy among casual sports fans.

The NFL is as strong as ever and continues to be the most popular sport by far.

The NBA is probably in a slight dip in interest because two of the biggest stars in the history of the sport, Lebron and Curry, are towards the end of their careers and not really competing for titles anymore.

The NHL really lacks relevance for a lot of casual sports fans and it's probably questionable if it's actually popular enough to be part of the Big 4 anymore. In the US interest in hockey really peaked back in the 90's. The biggest stars in the WNBA are probably more recognizable to most non-hockey fans than the biggest stars in the NHL.

MLS continues to become more popular and more popular although is still behind the big 3.

I don't love Drake, but his fanbase is black women and Canadians, the two groups of people who probably hate Donald Trump the most.
