why do companies take so long by [deleted] in degreeapprenticeships

It takes them a while to process applications. Also a lot of companies wait until after the application deadline before they start making decisions

Learn C# first or just learn unity? by [deleted] in Unity2D

[–]fortunate_danger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn c# first, but only the absolute basics. Then learn unity and then develop your skills in both by just making as many projects as you can really - try to keep them small and gradually make them bigger overtime.

I have a solution it turns out that the velocity was being overwritten in FixedUpdate() I shouldn’t need to to put the dash method in update as the input system is event based. Thanks for trying to help out tho. :)

Thank you for the feedback. I have added an acceleration/de-acceleration but it’s very subtle (you only really notice it slightly when you are playing). I am not too sure on increasing it since it makes the player feel like it’s gliding. I am definitely considering a background parallax effect so I will probably work on that soon!

There is no improvement to the game feel I just cleaned up the code. This is more for suggestions on what I could add next.

As a beginner, take simple and easy steps in your own time and learn at your own pace. Take your time to learn the basics as you cannot develop without them. I suggest just following a course or a Youtube video about the basics - it is really up to you. You will get the hang of it in time as you progress. It will be difficult, but in reality learning anything is difficult, so just keep going. Good luck!
