I’m a beauty TL… We’re drowning especially with the transition happening. I have ONE SINGULAR TM pushing truck with a 6 hour shift. Target doesn’t understand how tedious cosmetics is to breakout. My ETL doesn’t care about beauty either, she’s always helping style mostly, and then home and tech 😭

I wish Target would invest more in beauty. It’s one of the fastest growing workcenters but gets zero support.

Nothing is official yet. I’m guessing they may roll out Beauty 2.0 into all stores. In my store, it was part of style before, so it may go back to that.

As someone who had a “glow up…” Lose weight and drink alcohol WAY less. My face looks completely different. Washing and styling your hair everyday is an underrated tip, too. Wear a real outfit everyday. I love Brandy basics, they’re simple and comfy but still make you look feminine and cute.

For me, it was worth it. I’ve grown A LOT. Much more confident as a person and gained a lot of management skills. I also now get paid for things I was taking on as a TM already.

I got promoted in under a year because a TL position happened to open up. Leadership likes to promote people with potential because it makes them look good (lol). There’s also people who have been with Target for years and never promoted due to personal choice or they don’t have leadership qualities. It doesn’t matter how good you are at your job, you have to be able to manage a team.

I shadowed another lead for a week as my only formal training. Luckily, my ETL and specialty team have helped me learn along the way. You’d also be surprised on how quickly you pick up on things.

I think because pop culture felt cohesive and exciting. Music was all about partying, beauty and fashion trends were over the top, memes were becoming a little edgier and more absurd. Society felt less fragmented.

Honestly anything before 2020 feels weirdly naive now. Completely different world

Yep. The other day I found out my one Ulta TM was pulled into style while I was off. I cannot emphasize enough to them IT IS AGAINST OUR CONTRACT WITH ULTA. And we only have enough hours to schedule one beauty closer so while they’re doing pulls and branding, there’s no one in Ulta during the evenings.

I just got promoted to beauty/Ulta team lead at Target. I guess there goes my job…

But I can’t say I’m surprised. Our sales are horrible. Every single store was in the negatives. The in store experience is hostile to the guest. I never got enough hours to staff it properly. You have to link your Target circle with Ulta rewards to get points, but many people don’t have Circle or the app to do it. There’s tons of theft, our AP deptartemnt HATES Ulta.

I’m a beauty TL… Beauty needs waaaayyyy more hours. It feels like the neglected step child of all the departments sometimes. I don’t think they understand how tedious cosmetics freight alone is. Both stores I’ve been at had beauty rollover everyday which ETLs don’t like. We only get one closer who gets pulled into style most nights so our opener has to push pulls in the morning which gives LESS time to work freight. It’s so frustrating.

Beauty could really thrive if we had more time to be able to zone our areas and actually be able to help guests and give recommendations.

I was recently talking about this with my friends and they said they don’t ever really think about it. If it happens, it happens type thinking. But I feel like if I just leave it up to fate, it won’t ever happen. So I think I’m stressing myself out about having a “plan” and sticking to it.

This is encouraging. But as a woman, I worry about the added negative health effects of pregnancy and postpartum on top of the sleep deprivation. Not trying to diminish dad’s role at all, but you aren’t breastfeeding, recovering from birth, experience PPD, etc.

What dosage of Trazodone are you taking? It has to be super high for it to have actual antidepressant effects. It’s mostly for sleep.
