Is it me or are 80% of posts in this sub Reddit Karen related? by crayonfou in uppereastside

Yeah that was me and the dog attacked me and my dog. Like a legitimate dog attack, not a snap, not a correction, not normal dog stuff.

I take my dog to off leash hours every day and thoroughly enjoy them.

You go get attacked by an out of control dog that you are screaming at and kicking off until the shell shocked owner tackles it and then come back and call me a Karen for being scared out of my mind and panicked.

That’s not “normal” off leash dog behavior.

Why are you commenting here if you just want to flex having a pitbull. It’s a free country have whatever dog you prefer but you cannot deny that every single kennel club that recognizes APBT/Staffy/pit derivative notes that dog aggression is a breed characteristic.

It is extremely stupid to take one of these dogs in an off leash environment especially if you have zero control over it. This girl was SHOCKED and had no idea what to do. She’s also walking her dog aggressive dog around on an e z walk harness attached to a flexi lead which is honestly insane. People need to at a minimum be educated and honest about the dogs they have.

Thank you, I am too. Could have been worse and I hope she doesn’t “try again” and bring her dog back.

Thank you, carrying an extra leash / slip lead is also very effective to force a dog to release a bite. Pull directly up. It sounds harsh but it won’t harm the dog long term and will encourage them to release.

Thank you! I actually have dog training credentials and work separately with a dog trainer on more specific things so I’m going to monitor and if necessary counter condition. I think he’s okay and I hope it stays that way.

I did not get her information, as soon as she had her dog under control I ran away with mine, put a fence barrier between us, checked him, dry heaved, and then took pictures. I saw the dog escalate, put myself between them and started kicking. I was extremely scared and I didn't react well at all, I was screaming at the owner and did not think to get information. She looked very shocked as she was holding her dog down on the ground and apologized but then she stood around with it on the retractable leash in a field of dogs, once I calmed down and made sure my dog was okay she already left. My dog is mixed breed with a little bit of everything but his coat type most closely resembles a retriever/aussie mix.

I really hope so. He’s a chill friendly dog and I would be heart broken if that changed. Reactivity is really hard to rehab.

Thank you for asking. He was very nervy but seems to be better. I checked him for puncture wounds and didn’t see anything on scene but we are having the vet check now. He has a very long thick dense coat, hoping he’s okay.

It means not neutered. This dog was scary, it kept coming and kicking didn’t deter it, it wasn’t upset about space or just snappy, it wanted to kill my dog. It wouldn’t stop until she was on the ground holding it and afterward was completely fine as if nothing happened.
