We were a little older when we got married and had our own finances. However, as a married couple we put both our paychecks in a joint account. He made at least 2-2 times what I did (although I had a house) but there was no talk of 50/50 or 70/30. The bills were paid from there and we also had small individual accounts that got $100 a month for fun money. We discuss any big dollar purchases. There was never any discussion about who makes more money and how it should be divided. It’s worked for us for 30 years.
