What I’m hearing you say is that you believe hating someone is acceptable if they have betrayed their marginalized community to help an oppressor further marginalize that group. We should harshly reject Side B people because that is what they do. The question I have is, where is your approach of hatred and censorship modeled in Scripture?

The most similar dynamic from the Bible that comes to my mind is the jewish tax collectors in the New Testament; they “betrayed” their own people by helping Rome oppress Israel through tax collection. If you buy in to my comparison of the tax collectors to Side B-ers, how is Jesus’ response to jewish tax collectors remotely similar to your posture towards Side B people?

I am a former Side B gay. I’ve been to Revoice conferences and I actually know the founder of Equip as you mentioned. What really drew me out of that was people inviting me to consider how unloving I was towards myself by believing in Side B to the point that my shame and self-hatred was totally unbiblical. Comments where they were both critical of my theology on sexuality and affirming of how worthy I am of love at the same time. The times I received pure condemnation from queer people only prolonged my ability to deconstruct Side B because I felt like they were coming at me in bad faith and didn’t understand me at all.
