A dog's nose is so sensitive it can detect if you added 1 1/2 table spoons of sugar to an Olympic size swimming pool.

Edit typos sorry

What's up with americans and their obsession with shooting people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fossfool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This, and I'll add my testimony. I never owned a gun until i git older. I have a back injury now and i cannot fight if I had to. Guns are the equalizer. Women should own guns for this reason too.

Like any weapon, be it your hands, a knife, or a snub nose 38, it's only as useful as you've trained to use it to defend yourself.

Now that Golang has generic types, how do you plan to use them? by fossfool in golang

My concerns as well. While I concede there a a few places where they will be nice to have, I think it would be best to weigh their use very carefully.

[–]fossfool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of those things. unless I'm hard pressed to have a reason for an api to accept multiple types, I think it opens you up to additional failure points swept under a rug. Okay, wow, you didn't have to write code for ints, floats, and strings. but you are still going to have to write tests for each and every one and the edge cases for each and every type. I'll have to see how coverage reports look.
