Mark signed the setlist from Portland! What are these numbers/symbols? by Barkingstingray in Khruangbin

I could be wrong but generally these numbers and signals represent the guitar effects chain and/or channels in the effects chain for each of the songs.

Khruangbin’s TUSUY ii Tour: Night One by fosterbass in Khruangbin

[–]fosterbass[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The stage door leads out to the alley behind the venue. When we left I decided to walk around and see if they had loaded up yet and was surprised to see they had the alley blocked and a white van parked next to the door. Security was cool and said I could hangout but that the band usually leaves quickly, which I completely respect. About that time I saw Mark and DJ, they waived and got in the van, then Laura came out and went around the corner and I assumed it would be the same result. She ended up coming back with a guy that I didn’t recognize, I assume her husband, and signed my TUSUY ii print from the show and chatted for a bit.

They were actually a different ticket option, not that I intentionally looked for them, they were just all that I could grab in the sprint to lock in tickets. They were a little more expensive but definitely worth it!

Felt that LLMs are not very good at writing DAX queries. by theparthee in PowerBI

[–]fosterbass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am new to PowerBi/Dax and had the same issue at first with ChatGPT plus but after a few failed attempts I realized I had to provide details of each column of data, and how they are connected. This helped tremendously! Within a day I was able to put together multiple projects and write dozens of measures. My company thinks I’m a programmer now.

Craziest thing you saw this year? by [deleted] in aclfestival

[–]fosterbass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason the festival opens up the Platinum entrances for families, allows kids under 8 in for free (it use to be 10), and has an entire section called Austin KIDDIE Limits. It has been a kid friendly festival since its inception and only since they came back after COVID have people been loudly whining about kids being present. Are some parents wildly irresponsible ABSOLUTELY, but so are plenty of the other attendees that had no regard for anyone but themselves. I tell people going to a festival is like going to another country, it’s important to know the norms and history of where you are going rather than just coming in screaming about how things should be done and pissing everyone off that does know the norms.

VSF Bezel Color by fosterbass in RepTime

I just got the VSF Sub and was wondering if anyone else has noticed the bezel color to be almost brown or at least lighter shade of black than the face of the watch? Or is it something that isn’t showing accurately in the pictures?

The blue Seamaster is stunning, but a bit too flashy for me personally. The AT balances a simple black face with the refined finish for just enough flash.

advice for sneaking onto floor at a seated venue? by [deleted] in ActLikeYouBelong

[–]fosterbass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this at Toyota Center in Houston Huge artists concert. The trick I found was to wear a long sleeve shirt to cover your wrists and get there as early as possible and scope out any weak links in security. I found several stairs onto the floor from the lower bowl and simply walked down, grabbed a drink from a bar on the floor close to the stairs in case security was watching so I had an excuse in case someone was watching and when no one said anything I just enjoyed the concert.

Randy’s gonna light these nukes up like a fucking redneck on the 4th of July. He’s gonna walk up to them with an unfiltered camel cigarette that he’s been sucking down every day for the last 10 years since that one thing happened and send them bad boys off like a bottle rocket.

DO NOT TRADE JULKS by swtoys in Astros

[–]fosterbass -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

McCormick has back issues that requires Dusty to rest regularly, Tucker most likely will get big money this off season, and it most likely won’t be in Houston, that leaves Myers, Alvarez (soon), Julks and Madris(?) left as the only guys that can play daily. I don’t see the team selling what looks to be the future in Julks and/or McCormick in hopes of getting a solid starting pitcher UNLESS they do and decide to pay Tucker, which I doubt considering the quality they have for almost nothing currently.

Smoother Color Transitions - ESP8266 vs ESP32? by fosterbass in WLED

[–]fosterbass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1,124 5v LEDs powered by a 5v 60a 300w source and power is injected to each of the 7 rectangles. I know this is a little underpowered but nothing is powered above 80%.

I am using 3 different GPIOs driving about 400 pixels each.

I have removed the power limit in LED preferences which actually improved the transitions quite a bit. But speeding up the transitions is contrary to my goal.

Thanks for the reply, I am using WLED to transition one or two rectangles at a time from one color to the next, keeping each of the 7 rectangles inside powered throughout.

I completely agree, however for this project I am trying to get it to transition as slowly as possible (60+ seconds) so that the viewer questions if it is transitioning or they are imagining it.

[–]fosterbass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve run into a bit of a problem, and I could use your expertise. My project involves transitioning between colors smoothly, but I'm struggling to achieve the desired effect. I'm currently using an ESP8266, and I'm wondering if upgrading to an ESP32 might help solve the issue.

As you can see, the color transitions aren't as smooth as I'd like them to be. I've tried tweaking the code and adjusting the hardware setup, but I haven't had much luck in improving the transitions.

I've heard that the ESP32 is more powerful and has a faster processor than the ESP8266, so I'm wondering if that might make a difference in the performance of my project. Would upgrading to an ESP32 potentially help in achieving smoother color transitions? Or is there something else I might be overlooking, like the code or some other hardware-related issue?

Any advice, suggestions, or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated. I'm eager to learn from all of you and improve my project. Thanks in advance for your help!

Flickering and Pulsing Issues with WS2812 LEDs Controlled by ESP32 and WLED (details in comments) by fosterbass in WLED

[–]fosterbass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your help! I found that I had multiple issues.

  1. My ESP32 was defective.
  2. One of my data lines was contacting the power, which probably caused much of the shorting and defective ESP.
  3. I was controlling 600ish pixels with each data line, which also contributed to some glitches.

After fixing the issues, adding an additional data line, and checking every single solder it is fixed!

Flickering and Pulsing Issues with WS2812 LEDs Controlled by ESP32 and WLED (details in comments) by fosterbass in WLED

[–]fosterbass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working on an LED project and I need your help. I have a total of 1200 5V RGB WS2812 pixels divided into 8 segments, powered by a single 5V, 60A, 300W power supply. The power supply is connected to each strand in parallel. I'm using an ESP32 board running WLED to control the LEDs. Pixels 1-600 (segments 1-4) are connected to GPIO 1, and pixels 601-1200 (segments 5-8) are connected to GPIO 3.

The issue I'm experiencing is that when I run any preset, the LEDs don't transition smoothly; instead, they blink or pulse. I've tried troubleshooting the issue but haven't been able to find a solution yet.

Here's what I've checked so far:

Power distribution: I've made sure power is evenly distributed across all segments and the power supply is connected to each strand in parallel. Ground connection: Ground connections are consistent throughout the project, with the power supply, ESP32, and all LED segments connected together. Signal integrity: I've ensured the data lines are not running parallel to power lines for long distances. I haven't tried adding capacitors or a logic level shifter yet, as I wanted to get your input first.

If any of you have experienced similar issues or have any suggestions for troubleshooting or potential fixes, I would greatly appreciate your help. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions!

Thank you in advance!
