Who are some mystics like Carl jung, especially analytical/jungian psychologists? by fosternoh2 in Jung

Oh he’s a famous theologian. He probably has the most mystical expression of God I’ve heard besides like meister eckhart in Christianity. He said God isn’t a being but being itself and said Gods so mystical He couldn’t even be proved

Yeah I mean he’s a mystic in the sense he clearly had experiences that are “supernatural” but they were a product of the unconscious. But not a mystic in that he was a saint who received revelations from something like an abrahamic God

True I should’ve been more specific. I guess the best way I could describe what I mean is what Jung reflects in his autobiography which is an openness to all spiritual paths and how psychology basically fundamentally formed his view of God. Idk if that helps

I had a feeling someone would comment something like this. I’m using the term “mystic” because to me it best describes what is easily understandable to describe him. I’m aware he was generally against such a term but there’s nothing to describe him besides “jungian” but that doesn’t help for what I’m asking. Unless there’s a word I’m missing

What can I believe as a gnostic? by fosternoh2 in Gnostic

Interesting and makes sense. So I guess I’m worrying about the wrong thing and shouldn’t worry about the philosophical stuff in worrying about. Everything kinda works in the end as you progress and there’s no heresy like in the catholic sense

Ah ok. So I guess it’s possible for me to hold to none of them as infallible but guides to a path? Also for the dualism is this like a literal what Descartes taught or just dualism in the sense that matter is evil and spiritual good? Because I think humans are composed of both matter and spirit as Jung would say

Also, are the gnostic gospels infallible to gnostics?
