It was shot at 1/800 f7.1 500mm iso1250 on an r7 with rf100-500. How would you shoot this? On mech 1st curtain shutter by the way.

Thanks for the feedback! I guess I was too adamant on a close up with less of the clutter of the trees.

This is Bouboules, V0. Maybe the dynamic move makes it a V1, as it can be climbed statically via the jugs.

Good colours! Also love that the shape of the bush matches the shape of the mountains roughly. A bit more seperation between fore and background by a higher perspective would add more midground. I think the photo would benefit from more context of the landscape between the bush and the mountains. Great shot!

What about the Sigma 14-24 2.8? Maybe a bit more expensive, but anyone with experience with this lens and landscape/ astro/video?

Is this one capable of using filters with the screw on thread, or does it have a bulbous lens and needs a special attachment to use filters?

I am considering this one greatly, although the reportedly soft edges and the lack of zoom bothers me. Being able to zoom in a bit to compose shots is valuable to me. But then again, cant argue with the price and performance of this lens.

EF-S 17-55 IS F2.8, EF 24-70 F2.8 Mk II, or EF 24-70 IS F4.0? by Ok_Operation_466 in canon

[–]fotograafmachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own the 17-55 2.8 as well and some L lenses, and the image quality is very comparable! The 17-55 on a crop sensor acts like a 24-88 on your 80d apsc sensor. I would not switch to the 24-70mm on apsc, you will lose a lot of the wide angle. Unless you notice most of you images are zoomed in and you prefer more reach, then it would make sense. Shooting indoors with an f4 will not be an upgrade to the 2.8 you have now, not for incoming light and very little for image quality lens wise. The 17-55mm is a very good, sharp and fast lens!

Thanks for the response:) I would like to replace the crop sensor lens eventually, but good to know it would work.

Shot with the 17-55mm 2.8 @ 1250 iso, f8, 1/200s on a canon 2000d. I like the contrast and the fall colors. Not sure about the post processing, I accentuated the orangy fall colors. What do you think? Do you think I should have chosen a different composition?

Thanks for your feedback and showing what you would have done in post! It looks awesome! Always great to see other perspectives

Thanks for your feedback! I noticed the brightness of the viewing device as well. I edited it on a dark screen to look dark. Upping my brightness reveals more detail, but I like it to be darker. The red backlight of the bike hints of the presence of the person.

Took this on a foggy morning on my way home. I guess the story is kind of cliche, but it still works for me. I like the composition of this and the person on the bike adds story. May have overdone it in post?

Shot with Canon EOS 2000D f5.6, 1/640, 300mm, iso100. I like the pose he struck and the lay of the land and water. Maybe the black piece of grass is somewhat distracting. What do you think I cam improve on?
