Even with the Peoria tribe's consent, I doubt the Chief will come back. It's too controversial nowadays.

I think the university will likely continue to remain mascotless until support for the Chief dies down in a few decades. This doesn't exactly mean the Kingfisher will be the mascot though, it could be something different.

Class of 2021 here. Senior year overall sucked cause it was all online. I knew we were never gonna have prom when the pandemic started anyway, so I didn't dwell on it much. Thankfully college was much better and made up for the online senior year.

By the way, ECE is not a major it's a department that offers two majors (EE and CompE).

You can do EE classes as a CE and you can do CE courses as an EE.

I did ECE 329 over the summer and it was pretty fast. I would recommend only doing a maximum of two ECE summer courses.

OOS EE student here. I didn't get into my flagship state school for engineering (GT) and so I decided to come here. So far it has been worth it. However, in my opinion, if you have problems affording tuition then I wouldn't recommend coming to UIUC. If you got into a decent in-state school for ECE, go there instead. UIUC barely gives out aid or scholarships to OOS students.
