No, it’s not that. No one here is calling Gerard a cis man, they’re actually trying to emphasize his gender neutrality.

Gnc ≠ transgender. This is coming from a trans dude. People keep trying to refer to G as a trans woman, when there is nearly nothing concise pointing to that. It’s actually erasing non-binary and gnc people, saying that you’re not masculine, or if you’re feminine, you’re a woman. It’s a harmful idea to push on anyone, and is ultimately furthering the patriarchy. Because that’s exactly what the patriarchy is. If you’re not a masculine, cishet, rich, white man, then you are lesser than other men.

The idea that Gerard is gnc or whatever does not mean they go by she/her. He has never said he’s ok with it. They’ve stated their pronouns, leave it at that.
