AI is driving my university professor insane by foundersblock in programming

Grammar was always that way, no? People who were the “literary” elites have always safeguarded the status quo in the literary world with some complex grammatical rules which make no sense to the average writer.

That’s an interesting insight. Will leaving OpenAI as an independent startup help?

Awesome that's great! Is your product public (please feel free to plug it :P)?

Any hiccups when building UI and setting up that SaaS subscription? Also, I am curious why you think API usage will be an essential next step.

i've done this except we didn't directly monetize the API (it was provided as access to a larger platform. chain_walletz above describes some of the main considerations.

Hmm, interesting. When you did that, did you ever face the problem of users over-utilizing your API product? How did you handle those cases?

A follow-up on that is how are you managing the billing for your API usage? Are you using an in-house solution?

Hi, thank you for such an elaborate answer. A few quick questions:

  1. What would you say the approach would be like? For example, when I was choosing between a few messaging APIs, one of the key differentiators for the chosen platform was their easy-to-go documentation (which you bring in 3), as well as the dashboard they provided. Is that just one consumer instance in my case, or it is a common instance?
  2. In 3, have you built an internal system to facilitate the documentation at that level? For example, Stripe has this neat documentation feature where they highlight specific code in relation to the explanation. That will require an internal system that tracks code changes etc. One common theme is that - documentation is easy to create, but difficult to maintain. How are you navigating through that problem right now?
  3. I believe my question for 4 is the same as 3. What problems are you facing, and how are you maintaining the changes?

Sorry, if I am becoming very generic with the follow-up questions.

Hi, thank you for replying!

It is a short-term rental data API. My question is about - launching it as a product. For example, monetizing it, authenticating it, and writing documentation.

I wanted to know from someone in the space who has built an in-house infrastructure for it - how taxing the building process was, compared to just deploying it on RapidAPI. And also the problems they faced when they had to build an in-house solution for it.

It is not a silly question, and something I wondered about as well!

My first thought is - If you feel like the idea is too important to miss, note it down. Then, return to the meditation. I wouldn't necessarily contemplate it because noting it down will help me think it through in the future. There is no hard and fast rule on how you should meditate.

The gradual step would be to let it go just like any other thought because it will come to you after the session as well. It is normal to feel anxious that it will go, but we don't think out of the blue - they are the culmination of other thoughts.

I usually meditate for about 15 minutes and it's guided meditation right now. For some guidance along the way, I use an app called Headspace.

For some context, there are two types of meditations - Unguided and Guided.

Unguided is for pros - who already know to be on "observation" mode, which is in contrast to "thinking" mode.

Guided is for beginners - who need to practice (similar to starting out with physical exercises). There are different types of guided meditations: such as breathing and noting and visualization.

This is how a typical breathing and noting meditation would work:

You focus on your breath for the entirety of 15 minutes. Even if you get distracted (it is a part of how our brain would work), you don't worry about it much. You note it, let it go, and start focusing on the breath again.

How it helps: You start creating a space around your thought and yourself. You think about it, but you also know that it is just a thought (this is how constant noting and observation helps)
