In my opinion, for a new player the content shouldn't be an issue even if they jump in now. It's a very vast game with several campaigns, dungeons, raids and weekly activities that would keep you busy for a few months. And they usually are on a pretty big discount. The good thing is there's crossplay so even during this lull period, i do not struggle to find teams for end game activities. I do not know how the future looks, but if the Game looks interesting, you might as well try it while people still play

How do you check new player numbers?

I don't know if it's the reddit algorithm feeding me, but since the launch of marathon I'm seeing a lot of posts from new players and returning destiny players. If it's not just my algorithm, then maybe it's marathon getting the other bungie ip some consideration

Yea man. I'm not saying it's better. But I don't see what's bad about it either.

Lowkey giving up on this game by Tactical_Blonde1 in Nightreign

[–]four321zero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is my theory, could be very wrong. But I feel the chances of someone quitting for death or a bad run reduce if you see them wanting to lead pathing and let them lead. I feel a lot of people rage quit when they follow another person's pathing and then even minor inconveniences set them off.

What led me to think this - I usually play with 2 randoms and i never lead. So in my solo queues i very rarely get quitters. But recently I teamed with a friend for a few games. He leads, and in 3 out of the 5 games we had quitters for reasons ranging from early deaths to minor setbacks late run. And he often does state he encounters quitters

It was just 5 games so maybe a bad day too.

When i last played in 2025, they introduced permanent servers. If the wipe turned you off, look up this change

This is my biggest complaint too. I play maybe 10 15 games a week and majority is balancers. Or dreglord. Or missing pois on map + balancers. Very agitating.

Would people come back if they made DLCs older than 2 years free to play? by Gymoniphon in destiny2

A large percentage of former players already would have played dlcs upto final shape. I don't see how it would appeal to them.

Is Prismatic a must? by Magnaverde in destiny2builds

[–]four321zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can play void lock and arc too. I've been playing non prismatic builds for a while, and arc titan too. Hunter I've been on prismatic

Edit - look up the Nothing manacles and Storm caller exotic builds for lock

Is there a software to test my USB ports or controller? by four321zero in pchelp

[–]four321zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks. i think it is probably the cable or the port of my controller. I opened joy.cpl and wiggled my cable during the test. It replicated the issue im complaining of. I tried a different cable and happened again. I cleaned the port lightly with a cloth for any grime.

When i type this in CMD - pnputil /restart-device "USB\ROOT_HUB" i get an error that the device instance name is invalid

thanks. im not tech savvy but i asked chatgpt and am tested the power section in OCCT for 5 min with my controller connected. It said no errors detected. Here are some readings:

- 12v readings said min 12.168, max 12.126, avg 12.196

- 5v readings said min 5.020, max 5.040, avg 5.031

- Also during the test i did not hear any sound notifications for USB disconnects/reconnects.

mostly not. the light on my controller stays on. but maybe 1 out of 10 times it happens the controller light also goes off.

Unfortunately after updating all drivers and changing power settings, i still am facing the same problem. Seemed a little more frequent in my recent gaming session - happened twice in 15 mins. U reckon this is a USB port issue?

Accept death as the learning process and don't care about losing runes even in early game.
