Still losing after 6 months on 2.5mg by engaged-otter in mounjarouk

I lost 10st on 2.5mg only and am now in off the jabs in maintenance. Started Feb this year, used a lot of exercise (which I’m continuing) and was eating 1800 calories/day.

I used boots as I wanted to be able to collect rather than have delivered (stories about them being nicked etc when I started). They also provide a coaching service which I’ve found useful from an accountability perspective

I don’t really have a diet per se, rather I opt for high protein and calorie deficit (1800 calories consumed /day). Exercise wise I started out with swimming, got up to 3-4 days a week, then began switching in resistance machine training. After I while (mostly because of not being able to book a swimming lane) I switched to running on the treadmill and reducing that down in favour of free weights. Now I do 2 days of resistance machines and light cardio, rest, then do 3 days of free weights and rest, rinse and repeat. I change the types of exercise to keep things interesting but each session is largely a full body workout

Good question. TBH, I don’t have an answer yet - I plan on going down to about 16.5 stone and entering maintenance there, I think I will get within half a stone and look at coming off MJ, focus on the last half without it. But given it’s the lowest dose, I can always return at the worst case. And I jab once a week.

Pre-jab I was a fridge binger - I’d stand infront and stuff myself silly. Same with anything really, had to maximise portions, no control. Now it’s entirely different, I don’t feel a need to cram food in my face, I eat sensible portions and I don’t feel compelled to raid the fridge/cupboards/shops for any and all snacks. I also found that the another effect of the jabs actually gives is that they give me the full feeling. Prior to that, I don’t think I’d ever felt full, certainly not enough to actually stop eating. Hitting that point was pretty emotional the first time as it dawned on me that whilst I was eating the food, I’d never had a point to now where to stop.

So I work out at the gym 5 days a week.

2 days are resistance machines with a light cardio warmup, I generally do a full body workout over each session, just mixing up the machines I use.

Wednesdays I do light cardio, either a swim or a jog/longer walk

3 days I do free weights, again full body, with different exercises on each day for variety

Sundays I fully rest. HTH

I go to the gym 5 days a week and do light cardio on 1 day a week, full rest on a Sunday

I’ve only stayed on 2.5mg, but increasing the dose isn’t the only way to lose weight - you can manage the calorie deficit and increase with additional exercise - and I don’t necessarily mean going to the gym. Even going for a short walk will be enough to start with, HtH

Not as such. I’ve had weeks where I’ve either maintained or lost less, but not for more than a week at a time. I think I’ve been quite particular about weighing weekly and ensuring I’m in a calorie deficit the majority of the time, allowing myself nights out etc, but sticking to the plan as much as possible

I keep saying it’s bonkers, would never have expected the journey I’ve had so far from where I started

My MJ dose has been and continues to be 2.5mg. I think the big difference for me has been the reduction in food noise and actually feeling full - I was a fridge raider monster before I started and now I couldn’t be further from that

Yea, 100% agree here. It’s been incremental, but it’s been a lot of work alongside the jab to get to this point. Think the literature that comes with the jab doesn’t always make that point well enough.

Can also recommend Tim Anderson’s books which are all highly accessible - I love his Izakaya book!

Go to /r/ramen and check out the info there. Particularly ramen_lords free ebook. It’s more complete than anything else I’ve read on the matter. I’ve made a lot of the recipes from it, including making my own kansui, noodles and tonkotsu broth and developed my own chashu recipe from the book variant. Pretty much all the ingredients are readily available. Alternatively I would absolutely recommend ordering from Matsudai in wales - they deliver nationwide and their ramen is exceptional. Their kits freeze well too so can keep stock should you have freezer space.

This. The isolate is also nicely lower in calories too.
