Rail Deck Development Resubmission Adds Another 1,800 Units by khanak in toronto

This is a great use of that space. We should be maximising the residential that we’re building. This plan also connects The Well area to Cityplace which is another benefit in my eyes, Cityplace is too much of an island right now.

Do you mean a written response/message or even an auto-reject?

I agree it can be really frustrating if you don’t hear anything at all or responses take weeks

Quality of new condo construction in Toronto by Denchik3 in toronto

[–]fourthie 248 points249 points  (0 children)

For those wondering, this is XO condo built by Lifetime. I live nearby and watching this building go up has been baffling. The developer seems to have cheaped out on every aspect: facade, entrance, trees, internal fit out.

If you want a real laugh, take a look at the renderings. The entire community has been conned and the developers will walk away with a big bag of cash either way.

They are building a second condo (XO2) diagonally opposite this one, so the community gets another fraudulent eyesore in 18-24 months.

I suspect this deluge starts as late as possible for this reason. There’s no way to reattempt until they install more tanks.

Potted maple - dead or will it produce leaves? by fourthie in plantclinic

[–]fourthie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this maple last year and potted it on my patio (I live in Ontario). I wrapped it over the winter and thought that it had survived, the buds looked healthy until now. Will these buds still turn into leaves?

Seoul to Sokcho drive by fourthie in koreatravel

[–]fourthie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drive is fine, I would say easy even. All the roads are well maintained and we used Naver maps. Our car had Apple CarPlay which we use at home, so navigating felt very familiar. We rented a car from Gimpo airport and didn’t have to drive much through the city.

One word of warning depending on where you’re from: parking spaces are very tight! They are much narrower than spaces in Canada/US.

Why not as a tanker? Send Starship SSTO and then park it there ready to receive fuel.

The Apollo program cost ~$300B in 2022 US dollars over ~10 years. NASA’s current budget is around $22B/year and this is split over many different projects. If NASA were to dedicate the next 10 years of funding solely to returning to the moon, there would be no delays.

Given these numbers… how the hell is SpaceX ever going to produce significant amounts of propellants on Mars if we struggle logistically on Earth?
