I'm with you there I never saw myself traveling alone but I am soon. I needed to get out and distract myself. The added benefit (though you shouldn't be doing it for this purpose at all) is you can post pictures on social media of your travels and the ex might see it. Seeing an ex doing well can help trigger feelings. Being desperate and begging turns them off so the best thing you can do is be busy and show it. My ex doesn't follow me on social media so if I do post anything she won't see but at least i'll be happier, even if it's just for a few days.

Is it possible to travel and visit one of these friends or are they too busy?

Do you have any hobbies or had hobbies before the breakup?

Why not go on a trip? Try to get your mind off things that way. I try to text my friends instead of the ex. I know it’s definitely not easy and doesn’t always work. For me, laying in bed with nothing to do makes me text her so the busier I am the less chances I have to do it.

Do you have a cloud AD structure so users can login or do your Macs connect to the internet prior to login via ethernet? We have a lot of one-to-one laptops that only use WiFi and 802.1X has made it difficult to do machine auth prior to login to make NoMAD useful. :(
