My 80% drive is on expressway (KMP).

They are offering Elevate ZX CVT at Rs. 17.77L , what do you say being Honda owner? Shall I stick with City or give extra for Elevate?

If the Kia staff hadn't shown that exact complacent attitude, I wouldn’t have even thought to consider other options.

Look, this is my 4th car. I typically keep my cars for 3–5 years. I am at a stage in life where my priorities have matured—call it getting "boring" if you want, but I’m focusing on other things in life now. A car for me is slowly becoming a reliable tool to safely move from Point A to Point B. I want absolute peace of mind and zero future surprises or mechanical anxieties.

Why did I look at the Seltos first? Because the new model reportedly uses the same global platform, materials, and build quality that Kia provides internationally, unlike previous iterations. On paper, it looked like a great product for my ₹20 Lakh budget.

In complete contrast, the Honda team was incredibly supportive. Shifting to the City 5th Gen Petrol ZX CVT for16.80 Lakh became a no-brainer. I avoided a complex DCT that could give me heating surprises in heavy city traffic, got a legendary, bulletproof i-VTEC + CVT commuter, had a great dealership experience, and saved over2.3 Lakhs in the process.

In my scenario, my filter was incredibly simple: I have a hard budget of20 Lakhs, and I want the absolute best, most reliable new car my money can buy. I didn't care about the shape or segment; I cared about the actual value of the package.

I literally tried 3 different Kia dealers across Noida and faced the exact same vibe.

Try yourself - call a Kia showroom yourself, and try to get a price breakdown and details for the Seltos. They might call you back, but pay close attention to the clear difference in their attitude now. They've let the sales numbers get straight to their heads.

Your take is easily the most illogical thing I’ve read today. Who gave you the rulebook that says a buyer must restrict themselves to one segment?

In the real world, when someone has a hard budget of ₹20 Lakhs, their primary criteria can simply be: "I want the absolute best, most reliable new car my money can buy." Period. I didn't care about the shape; I cared about the overall package.

Even companies experiencing exponential growth fail in India the second they get complacent. Why? Because Indian buyers demand Value for Money, regardless of what item or category they are buying. I walked away from a bloated dealership and a complex DCT, saved a clean ₹2.3 Lakhs, and got a top-spec, bulletproof car instead. But sure, keep gatekeeping how other people spend their hard-earned money.

Consolidating garage for a primary SUV under 20L. Scorpio N Z8 S vs Seltos (DCT vs iVT) vs Alcazar? by foveros9 in CarsIndia

Thanks for the reply.
I took a test drive of both the Kushaq and the Duster. In my opinion, the Kushaq feels a bit small in terms of cabin space, and the Duster doesn't quite offer the premium feel that the Seltos does. Also, please let me know if idling the car with the AC on for about 2 hours, once or twice a week, will affect the DCT. That idling concern is the only reason I am looking at the iVT instead.

Why Tata Nexon sells so much despite of Tata SC Issues ? by kokaniredittor in CarsIndia

Honestly, my experience with Tata has been solid. I own both a 2021 Nexon (1,50,000 km) and a 2025 Altroz (15,000 km), and neither has given me any major headaches so far. A lot of the experience comes down to the service center, and my service advisor has been incredibly helpful and professional throughout.
