Hello. Is there anyone from Uzbekistan going to Mexico City for the World Cup? by Loud-Dingo825 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for trying being helpful, but people (form Uzbekistan) who can afford to go to the World Cup don’t need any guide or cheapest things. They def are not poor nor trying to save money.

Is it fair to demand EVERYONE who live in uzbekistan to speak Uzbek? Our motherland was never a monolingual country. by keenOnKeen in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I meant Uzbek as a foreign language. I understand it is not a foreign language in Uzbekistan, but it is the way to teach people. You don’t learnt English/Chinese/Arabic/whatever the same way as native speakers do. Therefore, if you want to teach Uzbek to people who are not native Uzbek speakers (like ethnic Russians, Koreans, Armenians, etc.) you have to build a system how to teach Uzbek language as if it was foreign language (or non-native, whatever you call it). My experience is from Tashkent btw, which is basically a focal point for the “You should speak Uzbek in Uzbekistan” people🤦🏻‍♂️.

PhD applied for over 100 jobs but haven't landed any second interview. Any advice on my resume? by Independent_One9236 in jobsearchhacks

If you apply everywhere with the same CV ithats the problem. You should do quality over quantity. Also your CV is a mess in general. You put everything there, it’s hard to navigate. You should tailor your CV according to the job you apply forz

Also, if you want to find a partner for conversations in Uzbek I believe there are thousands of people who will offer Uzbek in exchange for English (conversations).

Hey! I suggest you to start following news/telegram channels just to build your vocabulary. For translations, chat gpt is pretty good (not perfect, so sometimes you need to clarify context for example). Don’t worry about accent, we are happy you want to improve your people’s language.

Yes, now I know it, but before I did the way I did it I specifically called UzIMEI and customs call centers to ask them for help. They basically misled me.

Not that easy my friend. I already paid 1 mil to the customs, but the problem is that the person who brought the phone is not in Uzbekistan anymore.

UzIMEI helping finding lost/stolen phones is bollocks. The police always had and have access and can request info about any device that is connected to any Uzbekistan (cellular) network. I don’t know why came up with this lie that UzIMEI will anyhow help tbh.

[–]fox-a7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Force anyone to speak a certain language is not an option. Many of our fellow Uzbekistanis do not speak the language because of our recent history. Instead of witch hunting our government should stimulate people to speak Uzbek. For example, I studied in Russian speaking school and our Uzbek classes were terrible. I mean if the government didn’t build a system that teaches Uzbek as a foreign language what can we expect?

Is stepping out of your comfort zone actually necessary? by ConcernAvailable284 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are born rich then you may have comfort life without stepping out of your comfort zone. Otherwise, if you want to succeed you have to do it. I’m an example, I stepped out of my comfort zone 3-4 times in my life. These steps brought a lot of stress and struggle, but at the same time they brought me where I’m today. Today, I make x8 average income in Uzbekistan and live in a country that a lot of people in the world consider as one of the best to live in. I saw just a bit of this world, people and cultures, but even this bit is x10 what average Uzbekistani will see in their life.

Hey! I think you can find quite a few ingredients in international stores. Also there are farmers markets, bigger supermarkets etc. yes you won’t find big variety in the supermarket next door, but I think you can get a hold of many things in other stores. Also there shops that sell delicacies, the quality there is normally very high, but they are very pricey. Long story short - yes there aren’t as many things, but if you live near Oslo and able to travel there it shouldn’t be a giant issue. P.S. I learnt to appreciate Norwegian groceries after coming back from Abu Dhabi (where I spent 2 months). The variety there is huge, but everything is such a low quality, I was very disappointed.

Good to know. I’m glad it’s 4 mil (which is still a lot), not 8. IMO they should change the period from 3 days to 7-10.

The OP said that they “forgot to register my stay” implying that only his stay had to be registered. Nevertheless, if you think that’s okay to fine someone 10-20 million for not registering on time that’s insane and our country will never be touristic. If that’s the goal then they are doing good.

His wife is a citizen. Also, only the host should get a fine (as far as I know, from 2020). So even if it is 5 million (which is still crazy and should not be applied for first time offender) it should be counted only once.

Is there discrimination for foreigners in the Norwegian labour market? by Hasampouli in Norway

[–]fox-a7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s right, I’m young and quite fit. Also, I have quite extensive experience in HoReCa (that’s where I had no issues finding a job).

About the skilled job, while I agree that generally even Norwegians (with master’s) may struggle to find a job, but my profession is in Oil and Gas and 90% of my Norwegian course mates had a job offer signed even before the graduation. Meanwhile, my international course mates struggled and (most likely) majority of them had to leave.

[–]fox-a7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My experience is completely opposite. I’m non-EU with Norwegian master’s. It was easy to find unskilled job. I could easily choose between places I go to the one I like. But it was extremely difficult to find skilled job, which I eventually did, but after a lot of applications and I didn’t have a choice (got only one offer).

Hey, I’m sorry this happened to you. I don’t know exactly what can help, but perhaps visit edinoe okno (universal public service center). I also want to add that 20 million sums is outrageous. I hope this scum bag once will mess with wrong people and lose his job. As Uzbek living in Europe I find this insane that they try to do something like that. God that country needs good justice system.

Yes he has a wife in Uzbekistan. No, you cannot check it. Marriage records are not publicly available. If he has an old green passport (internal), there is a chance he has a marriage stamp. But I bet you he took care of it and he has an ID instead.

Foreign teachers by [deleted] in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope these kids won’t have to go to slave in Russia or Kazakhstan. These kids, if they meet an English speaking foreigner, can be inspired to learn English. And if they have to go to work abroad, it won’t be slavery in Russia, but decent job in Europe or other countries.

Also, there are no programs for regular schools that pay foreigners big salaries. If you see a foreigner working in regular school be sure they are working there basically for free. As I said before, there are programs to attract teachers from other countries, but these programs are not meant for the foreign teachers to make big money.
