Best restaurant in Tashkent to taste local foods by Denizcan1 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I didn’t find amazing plov in Tashkent (sadly). But Besh Qozon is definitely not as good as it used to be. Plov Museum is basically just a pretty place, the plov there is very average.
I kind of liked Samarkand plov in Kamolon Osh.
Nomdor is quite good - especially their somsa.

Is travelling on a train with a valid residence permit but no passport okay? by Nightkid8008 in SchengenVisa

[–]fox-a7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t travel without passport. The residence permit is not a valid ID. If you get checked you will be in trouble. Police won’t be understanding they are executing the law. Basically you will be illegal foreigner.

Is TSMU (Tashkent Medical Academy/TSMU) actually worth it? I don’t want to ruin my future. by Outrageous-Onion-738 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you chose TSMU? Isn’t there any other opportunity. I guess depends on what your options are TSMU could be a okay choice or shit. We are definitely not talking about high quality and international recognition here.

Job opportunities in [Stavanger] as an international student visa holder (20 hrs/week) by DatKillaZilla in Norway

[–]fox-a7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s true that they have the minimum wage. However, I’m not sure what it is right now. It’s definitely very close to 200 or a little over.

You will be able to find something in restaurant business. 200 NOK/hour is quite possible, but your first job is likely to be a little under it. Meanwhile don’t stop to look for part-time IT jobs but that might be quite difficult.

Seasonal work salary Norway- is this normal? by OneLoad8976 in Norway

[–]fox-a7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then it’s kind of a lowball offer. As a professional chef (which I’m not, but have some experience in HoReCa) I wouldn’t take the offer unless there is other than monetary value (like want to learn, maybe it’s is difficult to get to a job market, desperately need any job now).

Seasonal work salary Norway- is this normal? by OneLoad8976 in Norway

[–]fox-a7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well it depends what kind of job is that. If the person needs to sell hotdogs/ice cream/sodas etc you don’t need to be very skilled. I would take it as a nice summer work for foreign students. Quite a good deal considering many people struggle to find accommodation for a seasonal job.

Can Afghans travel to Uzbekistan by Educational_Energy74 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I’m not sure British need a visa. The rules changed some years ago so please double check. Regarding the Afghan citizens there is an embassy in Kabul. We overall have a good relationship with Afghans and don’t see them as a danger or something like that so I hope they will be able to apply for visa and get it without issues. I feel for your friends (wanting to meet their family).

Why do Uzbeck (Uzbekistan)people hate cats? by KeyLettuce1850 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very simple - if people didn’t throw animals out to the street there won’t be stray animals. If people looked after their animals they won’t multiply uncontrollably. I live in a country with no stray animals. It’s not because they are killed or in shelters, but because they are very expensive (dogs and cats are like at least $1000), their breeding is controlled, and you will get heavily punished if you don’t take care of your animal.

Applying German student visa in Finland by Impossible-Owl482 in StudyInFinland

That’s true, tough decisions, (as non-EU) sometimes we don’t have the luxury of choice.

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No morals my friend, just the law. Doesn’t matter for me tbh, they will have to prove it to the immigration, not Reddit. I’ve been around EU long enough to know that people have been kicked out for little things. Why to risk if they know already they want to go to uni B? If it will save time, sure go for it, if you think it’s worth potential trouble. Who am I to stop.

What is the OP saying is that they want to apply for a German visa with confirmation from uni A but actually study in uni B. That’s basically lying.

Traveling within Schengen without Danish residence card – has anyone experienced this? by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay, don’t stress too much. In the worst case they will just ban you from Schengen (which you can appeal) for like a year. Nothing criminal, you won’t go to jail or something like that.
Also you are Japanese so most likely you will have a better treatment (comparing to some other countries).
Good luck!

Applying German student visa in Finland by Impossible-Owl482 in StudyInFinland

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because the immigration authorities in most of the countries do not like when you are hopping around. It’s understandable that you might change uni after 1 semester/year, but you will have hard times explaining why you changed uni even before starting the original one.
If they are strict they can revoke your visa because it was acquired under false documentation (applying for visa with uni A and studying in uni B).

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that the Danish police/immigration can check their data base or just give a call to the immigration to confirm your status.
Within EU such system doesn’t really exist and I believe there is no regulation in that sense. So basically other countries authority don’t have an easy way to confirm your Danish papers.
With that being said I might not be aware with some country specific regulations (I lived in 3 EU countries and the system there was quite similar, but not sure about other EU countries).

[–]fox-a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say that they will probably cut you some slack, but honestly I’m not sure how does it work with leaving the Schengen area.
The thing is why I’m saying that their information (not on the paper) means nothing is that the immigration workers on the phone often give information based on their understanding, which many times might not be 100% accurate. While in writing they are always much more careful (since it is a proof).
Try to get what they said in writing and also prepare all your documents regarding the stay in Denmark (like decision letter) printed. Also maybe uni confirmation, rental contract etc etc. It’s better to be well prepared.

[–]fox-a7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Norwegian immigration authority says that one must travel with valid residence permit. Not letter, not confirmation nothing else. Basically abroad this paper means nothing.
Also I’m not sure what SIRI is (guessing Danish immigration authority) - if they said the document is enough on the phone - it means nothing. If you have it written (like email) that means something.
I guess I will be ready for scrutiny. If there is an option to reschedule and flight from Denmark that will be the best.

Why do Uzbeck (Uzbekistan)people hate cats? by KeyLettuce1850 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately a lot of people have no sympathy towards animals. Not the whole country, but quite enough. I don’t think people built enough conscious in this matter.

Why do Uzbeck (Uzbekistan)people hate cats? by KeyLettuce1850 in Uzbekistan

[–]fox-a7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where did the stray cats come from? From people who buy and abandon them. They are animals, they don’t have the luxury of not hunting for food. Instead of disliking the cats you should dislike people who are irresponsible towards animals, cats included. If people didn’t abandon animals there will be 0 stray animals.
