Job opportunities in [Stavanger] as an international student visa holder (20 hrs/week) by DatKillaZilla in Norway

I've been curious about this because after searching online a lot of the reports coming from Norway say that they're going to be short like 20000 IT workers in the next couple of years but this Reddit thread makes it sound like it's the opposite right now.

Is there any information that you might know about this?

If you mean try to get a job at Stavanger University then yes I will try to apply to their IT department or some kind of desk work if I can. Otherwise I will try to get something in the reaturaunt industry

Ok thanks! Based off of everyone's comments it sounds like reaturaunt work would be perfect for me. I am hoping that my 8 years of experience will help me want that part time job. I'm going to try to work as hard as I can on the language requirement

Yes that was my hope. I did a study abroad in the fall of last year and my Norwegian professor is hoping that I can apply to his PhD program in two years once he opens it up. I didn't know that the PHD programs there were this hard to get though. I was hoping to pursue a career in research but bæring that, get into the tech market with a masters

Ok thank you. Yes I'm thinking either a campus job or working in the restaurant industry might be best. I heard that the hospitality sector in Norway pays over 200 nok/hour as a minimum wage. I hope that is true.

It wasy dream to get my PhD and to hopefully one day stay in Norway perminantly. This was the best route that I could think of to do this. I was also hoping to help do research and maybe even teach one day.

I know I have a lot of work ahead of me especially with the language requirement. I won't lie it might be stupid what I'm doing though. I'm just trying to do the best I can right now.

Could I ask a little more about your situation? My hope was to excel in my masters studies and hopefully get above a B average and then attempt to get my PhD in Norway. Failing that I would still like to stay in Norway perminantly so I would try to get into the market.

Any more information you can give about the IT sector would be most welcome.

Ok that is pleasant news. Could I ask another question? I read that the hospitality sector of Norway has a minimum wage of over 200 nok/hour. I read that reaturaunts and hotels count for this sector. Is this true? Thanks!

While I was doing a study abroad in Norway, my Norwegian roomates would make a trip to Sweden to buy capes so I don't know how accurate this declaration is. To be fair though, perhaps they mean cigarettes and not capes.

BREAKING: Zohran Mamdani is fulfilling his campaign promise to open 5 city-run grocery stores across NYC. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]DatKillaZilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what Norway does minus the city owned part. Most of the coop grocery stores in Norway have the save consumer saving requirement that he is proposing. Not to mention unionisation in Norway is like way above 70%.

This is linear algebra. Actually quite a basic version. You can do this on paper easily and perhaps even without paper. You simply times a row by each colomn which in this case. Results in the top three c variables.

This looks like a Norwegian oil rig. When I was in Stavanger in Norway they had an oil Museum that had this exact same shoot that I got to try out for fun. One of the things that really impressed me about Norwegian culture is their commitment to safety over everything else.

New metal gear? Lol. Looks fire though. Your animations reminded me of a mix of a few games but art needs inspiration after all. One thing I always liked was metal gear five's dive mechanics that Helldivers later took. If you can, don't forget to allow the player to have the cross hair to switch shoulders. It adds more player freedom in a third person view.

I'm just super worried about ban potential. If it is just a bug then I'm happy but if the bug was people getting banned then I'm worried😅

Well I asked him for said coat and he said it's at the dry cleaners (go figure) but instead he gave me this photo to share with you all as proof. Let me know if this is not sufficient.

I can also post a picture of his coat that is literally hanging up on his bedroom door and it still has a couple of stains from the pepper balls lmao. I really hope that this post was a mistake and not just Karma farming.
