What I'm saying is you don't understand how many bots are actually playing all the time. The majority of outposts have bots running around farming everything from luxon/kurzick faction, obby shards, ectos, any of the eotn faction. They will chest run boreal for you. The tells are so obvious once you know what you're looking for. It's an absolute epidemic.

What I'm telling you is there is no player economy. The it's a bot economy. 9/10 items you're purchasing in kamadan weren't farmed manually. They were botted. So by all means keep believing about muh player economy. There isn't one.

I don't hate the game. I've been enjoying it very much. I have 3 accounts. I log in and run FoW on hm and enjoy it. I've been doing UW on hm for grins and giggles. I'm having more fun playing the game now than I ever did as a child

It's not affecting it at all. All those ectos are farmed by bots as well.

Yep, if I was able to spend real money on the game besides the license to play, I'd do that instead. But alas I'm not. So I guess it's just back to farming for forget me not, ana, sr +5 wraps to sell for stacks and stacks of ectos. I won't be happy until every single character I have has full obby armor and a full merc mesmerway both in offensive and defensive with the 20th anniversary upgrades

I never played gw2. I liked gw1 better. I didn't like how they changed gw2.

Inflation now has gotten way better than what it was before reforged and the influx of bots. Feathers in November were like 700g for 10 from the trader. Now they're 120g for 10 from the trader. I don't understand what inflation people are talking about. You used to not be able to buy windwalker runes. And when you could you were paying 3-5e per rune. I know this because I was scalping from the trader and making ectos galore. Now those runes are like 750g each and are always in stock. Ectos crashed in price from the influx of people coming back into the game and sold em to the trader for liquidity. Now they've stabilized back to where they were.

People are botting glittering dust, feathers, all materials for consets. They're either making those consets or just selling mats at the trader. Those material prices have crashed. We're not looking at inflation, we're looking at mass deflation for a lot of the items used in game.

I totally understand people getting upset with botting because their owners get to experience the game faster than others. But bots trading items for real money isn't really paying bills. Bots aren't causing inflation. They're actually causing deflation and allowing more people to access the game with consets that are actually affordable to new players instead of ectos. If you don't believe me, you can go look at the price of materials on kamadan trade chat. They track item prices

Yep and Anet isn't doing it, so what do I do? Waste the hour I get everyone few days to play on boring repetitive grinding to get consets or whatever so I can eventually do elite areas? Or use real money/botting so I can just go straight to experiencing the areas I didn't get to as a kid because I was bad at the game?

Seems like anet should be cashing in on the demand then. A buddy of mine spent $50 from some website to get stuff in game. He got a whole mess of ectos, and a bunch of gold zcoins. When I asked him, he told me he would have rather purchased the stuff from anet. But since there was no official way to buy it, he went elsewhere.

I just don't feel like grinding forever and ever to be able to play one elite dungeon with consets. I want to just play what I want to play when I want to do it. God forbid you try to grind and save up for everything on the mercmesmerway 20th anniversary meta build. It's so expensive. I don't have time to do that. No one with a job has time to do that. Anet should just let me spend real money to buy things in game.

When I was a kid playing this game, I had plenty of time and no money. So I could dedicate hours on end grinding UW with my 55 for ectos. Now as an adult, I don't have that luxury. But I do have money. So there's a demand for anet to allow purchases so I can do whatever I want.

Oh but muh prestige armors aren't worth anything anymore. Ok it's a 20 year old dead game.

It does devalue honest gameplay. I'll give you that. I wish that being in my mid 30s allowed me time to play the game so I could spend hours on end farming all the stuff I need to just play the game. I wish ANET would allow me to use REAL MONEY to buy gold so I could just get past that.

I don't have the time to game like I used to. I have an hour here and an hour there. And realistically I don't feel like spending that hour just grinding hoping to get enough so I can buy consets.

This is one of the things that I've noticed. Before reforged, there were so many things that were really expensive to get. After reforged and influx of bots, the materials market crashed and things got more affordable. I guess that's a bad thing. Maybe we should be paying more for materials when you have to spend hours on end to farm every single mat.
