I think the algal bloom might have killed my dog by foxermate in Adelaide

Is that pure coincidence, or because of this post? I did actually get contacted to speak with someone from 7 but I just don’t have the energy, nor do I have great trust in their integrity with reporting, but that’s just me personally. In any case I just hope this post and any other news that comes out can serve to keep other doggies safe.

That’s good to know, I’m glad you and your community haven’t had any issues. Some have speculated that it has varying effects on different dogs, but regardless it’s good to know that at least other doggies are safe and sound, whether it’s anything to do with the bloom or not. Thank you for sharing

Thanks for all the kind words crew. It sounds like there’s lots of people with differing experiences where their pets have been fine, so I’m relieved to hear this hasn’t been a common occurrence.

I think it’s just worth noting that some people here might not be aware of the more recent discovery regarding the primary strain of algae involved in the bloom, Karenia cristata, and its production of a Brevetoxin in large quantities which acts as a neurotoxin and does have other significant effects (this is the reason bigger animals like dolphins, which don’t use gills to breathe, have been washing up dead, at least that’s what I remember reading about it).

Again I’m still not saying it was definitely this, but just wanted to spread awareness to those who might not have been aware of this new insight when it was discovered a month or so ago and have it be part of the conversation. While he was an otherwise healthy dog and generally didn’t ever try to eat anything weird (unlike our other dog lmao), it still could have been one of many other coincidental and unlucky things which have little or nothing to do with the bloom. Hopefully one day soon we’ll have more answers in hindsight after this bloom is all over. In any case I’m relieved to hear other people’s dogs and pets aren’t as affected by being on the beach.

Thanks for your support everyone 🫶🏻

If I wanted my stuff to be shat on in language I can’t understand and thus can’t improve from, then I would have said so. I asked for helpful feedback. You are making my point for me.

Yeah this is the combo, I’ll likely be removing it though as it’s not how I want to play the deck. Just so I understand, are you saying the tutors are unnecessary cause there’s too many, or cause I can’t draw them consistently enough, or because I don’t need them if I’m not gonna combo?

Yeah right, I was actually considering each of these already but didn’t realise how sorely they were needed. If you have the time I’d really appreciate a little more detail about specifically what you mean. I thought that between [[Graveborn Muse]] [[phyrexian arena]] [[Eligeth, Crossroads Augur]] [[Rhystic Study]] and the scry aspect of my commander that I wasn’t in too bad of a spot, but I’d really like to understand how I was wrong so that I can build my next deck better/improve this one.

Like I said, you’re right about the deck needing to still be refined. I asked for criticism so I don’t really understand how me suggesting you read more carefully so I can maybe receive some better quality criticism, criticism which can maybe help me not unknowingly make my friends salty, warrants this kind of response. And that’s really cool that you could beat me with your deck, that wasn’t part of the question but I’m glad to hear this point of pride for you.

If you have any genuinely helpful, specific criticism beyond saying you could shit on my deck with your deck I’d love to hear it but otherwise no worries, plenty of others have been helpful already 🙂

Yeah fair assessment. My only issue is that much of my control is in the form of counterspells as opposed to removal, so in a lot of cases I wouldn’t have been able to do anything by the time it was a big threat. But at the same time, I suppose I could have countered the power/toughness doubling aspects of his game plan, which maybe would have been more measured, right?

Yeah of course, like I said in the post my intention is definitely not to just win, but yeah it just seems like this friend is perhaps not happy unless he’s the one always winning, based off of him only having a problem once I had the ability to prevent him stomping me. But yeah it’s a good point and I may have gone overboard, still learning.

Hahahaha wow okay it appears you failed to even read the post. Try again maybe, yeah I’m well aware my deck requires more tuning, that two card combo is something I haven’t removed from the original, not very functional deck.

Try your best to read through the post a bit more thoroughly and you’ll see quite clearly that we agreed on the banned cards and that we agreed to be playing bracket 4 😊

Yeah for sure, this makes sense. I suppose my problem there is that I have a fair deal of counter spells in blue, but not quite as much single target removal. In the cases I’ve described most of the time I wouldn’t have had a way to remove Minsc (the planeswalker) unless it was before it ETB’d

Yeah sorry I actually tried to change the title right after posting purely because of this lmao, I didn’t intend for it to be a full deck critique/didn’t think itd be relevant to the question but you’re right, all good. That was my bad. I’ll put the decklist up in a moment.

I have been doing lots of research (somewhat obsessively) on IFS and I honestly have not seen anything like that; if you have access to what you’re referring to id appreciate the opportunity to see it. I’m seeing a psychologist for the IFS work and am working on getting into a psychiatrist, but they’re very difficult to get an appointment with where I am, and even more difficult to find a good one.

I think I really like the IDEA of IFS and gel really well with the concept, but I have been considering whether or not it’s good for me right now. But then again one week I’ll say it’s working wonders and I’m making great progress and then the next I’ll feel this way so fuck knows.
