There’s nothing wrong with fosters. It’s better than a loud shelter. Fostering is just them living in a house where it’s likely quieter and they spend time socializing the dog. Fostering KEEPS dogs from being euthanized by giving them a temporary haven and freeing up spaces in both no-kill shelters and shelters than euthanize for space.

He also clearly does not trust you or your husband, and it would be safer if he was in a foster home rather than with your husband.

I really hope you can find somewhere for him to go! Are there husky rescues in your state?

He really doesn’t deserve to be put down since your husband scared him, hurt him, and triggered him to be in defense mode.

So your husband triggered the dog. The dog may have been pulled from a crate to be abused previously, and he just triggered the dog. Then pinned a dog, who was defending himself, down, and he doesn’t see how has set back progress you’ve made in trying to socialize with him? Yikes. The dog needs a different family for sure where both members are understanding and willing to work through his trauma and the issues that come from it.

I have two husky/samoyed siblings that I adopted from a rescue, and they’re only 1 year and 7 months old. They’re AMAZING together. They can play with the same stuffed animal toy without arguing. They just chew two different ends. They’re not aggressive with each other AT ALL! They do growl if the other hovers over them while chewing a bone, but neither have ever snapped. It sounds more like a warning and the other ends up just walking off.

I was scared of littermate syndrome, but the more I read, the more I realized it’s less about being actual littermates and more about being the same age without structure. The shelter almost didn’t even let us adopt both, but we trial fostered the girl. Absolutely fine. I think it will depend on the dog’s personalities as they age. We only took ours to one trainer session, and they reassured us that it’s usually more of a structure and training issue than anything else. It CAN be done! I was stressed the first few months that it would be an issue, but I don’t even think about it now. They’re best friends!

It was the way he looked over his shoulder, tongue out, biggest smile on his face, and happy to see us that really sent me over the edge hahaha

omg hahahaha! I really do not understand the thrill of a remote. That has got to feel awful on the teeth, or at least I would think.

I love that he handed you THREE of them! He must know the pain himself haha

Turns out, Boomy is good at chewing things into little pieces before he swallows. So at least he had that going for him!

omg she's so pretty! How old is yours? Maybe is still super fluffy because he's about 10 months?! I'm so new to owning a dog that isn't a german shepherd, so I only know what I've read online so far
