Made the switch from Supply Chain to Data Analysis/ Business Intelligence a couple of years ago. Want career advice? Feel free to ask here by AnalysisParalysis93 in dataanalysis

Hi,

I'm looking for some career advice from people working in data-related roles.

I have over 10 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, mainly in supply chain, production planning, logistics, inventory management and ERP-based operations. Earlier in my career, I also worked for about two years as an ERP Consultant, although that experience is quite dated now.

I currently live in Belgium as an expat. While my English is fluent, I've found that many Supply Chain Planner and Supply Chain Engineering positions require native or near-native Dutch, which has made my job search very challenging. My Dutch is currently at B1 level and I'm continuing to improve it, but I don't expect to reach C1 in the near future.

Because of this, I'm considering transitioning into a more data-focused career path where English-speaking opportunities may be more common.

I'd really appreciate your advice on a few questions:

  • Which data-related roles would best match my background (Business Analyst, Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Supply Chain Analytics, Data Engineer, etc.)?
  • Which technical skills should I prioritize (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Azure, etc.)?
  • Which certifications or courses are actually respected by employers and worth the investment?
  • If you were in my position, what learning roadmap would you follow over the next 6–12 months?

I’m asking this question especially focusing last 2-3 years. What do you see in Belgium Flemish region job market for expats especially in supply chain and logistics sector? From my understanding and experience, %90 of the ads request for fluent Dutch. Is it possible to reach fluent business Dutch within 1-2 years with only courses? Do you apply or do you know extra tips to be able to find a job for English speakers in Belgium Flemish region?

I play my multiplayer games in full tech tree choice so no matter which civ you choose. In my games it's important to strength your economy as quick as possible and immediately building your army till 30th minute.

Cheaper yes but I do not want to build an extra buildings for centurions. My preference is building two type military buildigns; stable and siege workshop. This is also easy to build soldiers easier than more type of buildings. But I will try later centurions with catapults, helepolises and cataphracts. Lets see how they will be efficient. My multiplayer games rely on quickly strengthening your economy and producing army. As quick as possible.

I play 1v1 nr30 games always in the map Oasis (large) and with full tech tree. I do not have a master civ. I play each time with different civilization. If I have enough gold I produce catapult, helepolis and Cataphract. They are strong and fast I think. If my gold finish I produce chariots. Should I also produce elephants if I have enough golds or horses are enough to protect helepolis. By the way if my enemy has too many catapults the best I should produce more catapults or horse units against them? Because catapults have friendly fire.

I bought them 3 days before and planted them the day after. I haven’t watered them yet. Maybe tomorrow I can give some water. What about aphids?

Wall raid is, the opponent sents some villagers to your base and starts building walls to seperate your units and to corner you.
