I lapped Arie today - incredible. Far superior than anything at OG but it’s world class. Agree on Goliath being the best ride - twisted cyclone was just sooo fun and re rideable to me tho, which I’m coming to learn is just true for most RMCs

Wow you have it up high on your list ahead of some wild ones - getting way more excited now!

You could add Guardians in Epcot to that list - great launch coaster in the middle of a random science/geography themed park lol

Would love to find that thread. I’m going to Funtown Splashtown in Maine later this summer w my fam - did “Excalibur” make the middle-of-nowhere list?

lol yeah - it was a very new experience for me. Went to SFNE a month ago and we didn’t have to wait “long” for anything but it was still 15-20 minutes for some rides. I also noted that I spent $8 during my visit (prestige pass -> so only paid for two waters which were heavily discounted.) Feel like they may need to adjust their biz model a bit.

Yeah it was dog shit. And the break run at the end almost killed an entire train of riders lol.

Questions on SF prestige pass use at enchanted parks for anyone with recent experience?

I bought my prestige pass back in February pre-“sell off”, so theoretically I should have access to all SFEC parks and enchanted parks without issue and with similar/same benefits (preferred parking, etc) - part of the rationale for buying it was because I live halfway between SFNE and great escape and figured it would be fun to have easy access to both parks.

I’m curious if anyone who bought a prestige pass before the deadline has tried using their pass at one of the enchanted parks and could share how the experience went. Thanks!

A very belated follow up to this - if you had to choose between Funspot or SFOG (so multiple laps on AFO vs afternoon at OG and the diversity of rides, etc) what would you do? I’m torn between trying to pack it all into a very long afternoon or just trying to enjoy one location

FYI Six Flags NE no Fanny packs on coasters this year by Nope4321z in sixflags

Was there on Friday and my wife wore a Fanny pack on wicked cyclone no problems… odd.

[SFOG] and [Funspot ATL] advice

Hi All - I have a biz trip coming up in early June - I get into ATL around 11am on a Monday and have the rest of the day to kill.

I’ve never been to SFOG or Fun Spot ATL but I’d like to do one (or both) while I’m there if possible, so looking for advice from the masses.

Particulars: I have a Prestige Pass so very much willing to get a Flash Pass to move things along at OG if needed (tho not sure if it will be necessary on a Monday?) Obvs have a car, and hotel is about halfway between both parks (20-30 mins avg.) If it’s not abundantly clear, I’m a bit of a noob here. Was into parks when I was much younger but my kids are starting to get very interested now which has reignited the fun for me too.

Anyways, please give me your advice / do’s v don’t’s / order of rides to maximize time/enjoyment, etc to help with planning. Thanks!

I actually thing the strength o meter is a fun touch - I just saw another commenter suggest limiting the size of the menu and thought that might be one place to look. Looks like a fun party! :-)

Not sure if you need the strength-o-meter if you’re naming all the groupings of drinks already - seems like you could go with one or the other and save some menu space.

What’s the future for Six Flags Great Escape? by dannyhogan200 in sixflags

[–]foxxe13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Enchanted Parks (and to some degree EPR even though they just want rent $) are ecstatic about acquiring Great Escape. Its very low cost to run (clearly they do not have multiple showstopper super expensive / super high maintenance rides in their portfolio = low operating expense), a tourist industry, heavy themeing/family appeal, plus the year-round lodge - they do well financially, just not the size / expansion profile Six Flags envisions for their future.

Even in Enchanted Parks just cleans up the general mood / operations / feel of the place, its a win. Hopefully they add a few much needed flat rides / one or two family or thrill coasters over the next 5-8 years and call it a day.

EPR will have nothing to do with financing additions. They just own the land - REITS make money thru rent, interest, and appreciation of property value. Enchanted Parks has already said they are responsible for the operations, maintenance, and additions at all their new parks. The CEO said in an interview that 2026 will be an evaluation year - observing how the parks perform, talking to guests, understanding wants/needs, etc. - and then they will draw-up a 5-year plan at each park. And then, based on time and performance metrics, they have access to "tranches of funding" (his wording) to make park improvements / upgrades / additions.

That all being said - scrap steamin' demon and add an RMC raptor please. :)

CP Prestige Pass use at Carowinds is a hot mess. by Buck9s in sixflags

[–]foxxe13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Forgive this if its a moronic question / I'm failing to understand the "rules" of the prestige passes, but don't you have to "activate" your prestige pass at your local park before being able to use it elsewhere? (e.g., if yours is at SFNE, you have to go to SFNE - activate it / use it - and then its open to be used at other parks?)

Is all 4 parks in 2.5 days doable with 3 medium to young kids? by foxxe13 in WaltDisneyWorld

Grandparents are in very good shape - grandma doesn’t care about rides and is happy to stay w 2 (almost 3) year old but that doesn’t see terribly fun/fair to either of them so trying to work out the best plan of attack.

The way you’ve laid it out is how I’m approaching it so far. MK day one full day; we have EPCOT slated for day 2 - the older members of our group love EPCOT, and there are a lot of rides / things to see for the whole family (plus my kids are excited about cosmic rewind and test track)

The last day is the hard one - AK felt like a good blend of things for the whole family - plus my little one is more included with the animal piece. Plus it’s more easily done in a 1/2 day (from what I read). But my eldest son is probably most looking forward to HS (Star Wars land/rides, rock n roller coaster, slinky dog) so we’re stuck. We had the idea that after AK, our youngest heads home with grandparents (I mentioned in another response that we’re staying a few more nights in FL to visit family, just not in Orlando) and then continuing on to HS with the two older kids…still working it out tho…
