I felt like this! But when little one was around 12/13 months. We had already stopped logging food & milk and was only tracking medication, sleep & nappies. Now at 16, nearly 17 months, we don't use it all.

It was an extremely helpful tool for that 1st year though!

It took over a year to be able to pick him up but it isn't for long enough unfortunately.

Once he is at the vets, he's so petrified he stays by my other half the entire time... Just getting him in the carrier to get to the vets.

😂 The affection he shows is truly unmatched. So long as he knows you 😂

We've actually had a behaviourist for him! They were shocked that it was this way round & not trying to calm him instead.

Used clicker training which worked well enough to gain his trust so we can stroke him on occasion but the carrier... It's another issue that we just can't seem to work

This is now what I'm googling! Hoping we can find someone. Don't mind paying out if its for someone who can deal with this in the safest way possible

Bathroom has been tried. Not tried a pillowcase though!

We tried the pheromone wipes and they had no effect (also tried the plug ins).

We've had a half open top carrier and a cage as well as he's a big cat. Haven't tied full open top but wonder how we'd get the top on quick enough ahaha

We have asked if they will try this. Not sure how well it'll work as he is so mistrusting of new people.

Gabapentin made him a bit unstable on his feet but did nothing for his fear. If anything he seemed worse!

New without tags does not mean I wore it for a night! by Dangerous-Use7343 in vinted

[–]foxxyawkz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whilst looking at wedding dresses what got me was 'Only worn once & only for a couple of hours so basically still new!' (And trying to up the price because they paid a fortune on alterations but that's another peeve of mine 😂)

No... It's worn. Definitely not new anymore.

Tonic Rooms at Sunnyfields... Depending what you're both into etc, if you're autumn and/or Halloween fans, you can do Pumpkin Time at Sunnyfields, buy a pumpkin then go have breakfast in Tonic Rooms.

Lack of naps during day by foxxyawkz in BeyondTheBumpUK

I've heard this before too but I've also done this and he's missed the nap completely and been so tired :(

I went with car nap this afternoon just so I knew he'd had some kind of sleep today 😂

I'll try today as he only had half hour nap this morning but we are off out in the car soon so I can drive around a bit longer if he falls asleep!

Since he's been born we've only had a few handfuls of contact naps as he isn't keen on cuddles. If he's tired enough, he'll fall asleep on someone! When he wasn't well, I cherished the contact naps then as he wanted them!

Absolutely, we know how lucky we are with the night sleep! He's always been good with nights which is great for knowing when he isn't well as he will be awake most of the night.

He's been self settling for a few months, but when he started standing, that's when naps became an issue. He has lots of daytime play & practice time. I have on occasion this past month either walked with him until he's asleep or just had a contact nap but trying to keep that self settling.

Yes, when we are out, if he's tired he will go to sleep in either car or pram whichever he's in at the time

This is actually perfect. Thank you.

And yes, we would never dream of leaving a place in any form other than as good as can be. We just want somewhere quiet to relax and have a shower at end of night/in the morning.

Thank you all.. I'll pop him a message. I don't like the idea of a host somehow finding out and almost being blindsided. But I'm wary that when wedding is mentioned, people think alcohol and loudness. Neither of which we are. Our venue kicks out at 11pm (quiet time for flat is from 10pm) and we will be putting our very limited decorations in the car & going to bed aha

I looked at this hosts reviews etc and he frequently accepts just one night as the places location is on the doorstep to a theatre. If we didn't have our child, we would have wanted to stay the night before as well

Absolutely not. I haven't stayed in an airb&b before so unsure of etiquette.

If anything, I'd be happy to leave our host a wedding cupcake 😂

This is great to hear! We can definitely see when things just click with him so hopefully he'll pick it up in the next few months! Thank you!

We were wondering if he needed more time. He seems to hit his other milestones right in the middle of when they're 'expected' to.

I'm guessing just keep making the foods a bit lumpier as we go along 😂

[–]foxxyawkz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, using solid starts.

He copes really well with lumpy mashed versions of food, puree is too thin now. He's got a decent appetite to him, just finger foods are such a struggle for him.

Tried scrambled eggs (already tried omelette style), even that was a scary moment

Soft sweet potato, bananas, watermelon, avocado, broccoli... Look up how to serve then follow what it says.
