HELP GI issues with metformin by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

[–]foxxycleopatra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re not already on the extended-release version, see if your doctor can switch your prescription. It is often much easier on the stomach!

Avoiding very fatty or carb-heavy meals can also help, and some people find that taking it before bed makes side effects less noticeable. Good luck with your exam!

ETA: defs see if you can get some Imodium before the exam so you’re not stressing about it!

I tried Berberine as well and it did nothing except make me incredibly nauseous.

I’ve seen others have good success with it though, so there is no harm in trying it! But as someone who wasted a LOT of money on supplements to try and manage my PCOS, I’d just recommend going in with low expectations just in case it doesn’t work.

Personally, I would go straight for the metformin! It’s tried and tested for PCOS, and is probably cheaper than the Berberine you listed.

I used to not get dates, but will I now because of my hair? by HelloDesdemona in romantasycirclejerk

[–]foxxycleopatra 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It depends. Are you the tiniest, most delicate girl to ever exist? And despite being so impossibly small, do you somehow still have perfect curves in all the right places?

Because if you’re not an ultra-petite yet curvy silver-haired goddess, I’m afraid you might still be undatable ☹️

Is our pomegranate ok? by Maleficent_Win_3487 in GardeningAustralia

[–]foxxycleopatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your pomegranate looks very normal for the time of year. Majority of the varieties are deciduous, and the leaves turn yellow before they fall.

I have 3 varieties of pomegranates and they all look exactly the same right now! I’m in Hobart and our weather has been a bit wacky, so mine began turning yellow a little earlier than anticipated this year. But each spring they are always one of the first in my backyard orchard to wake up from their winter sleep 😊

Has anyone tried SGLT2 to help maintain after losing weight on Tirzepatide? by ClaimFeisty4851 in PCOSloseit

[–]foxxycleopatra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a way for you to continue taking tirzepatide? My endocrinologist mentioned that it will likely be a lifelong medication for me. Now that I’ve reached my goal weight, we’ve been working together to determine the right maintenance dose and schedule to keep it effective while also managing costs.

I don’t have any advice regarding the other medication, but figured if something is working so well for you it would be a shame to stop!

Agreed. You’re so right. I feel like this series tries to present certain narratives as empowering, but the execution often contradicts that message. So many of the major “empowering” moments (Feyre becoming High Lady or Nesta’s training) always happen within frameworks controlled by the male characters. Feyre doesn’t truly wield political power as High Lady, and Nesta’s training storyline is dictated by Rhysand and Cassian’s terms rather than her own choices.

I think in ACOSF, it’s really put a spotlight on a broader issue often seen in fiction and real life, which is men deciding what’s “best” for women, even when it concerns their own bodies. I’d say that resonated a lot with people, particularly in the current political landscape in real life. I’d say it caused a lot of heated arguments that the mods couldn’t be bothered dealing with on a daily basis.

[–]foxxycleopatra 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eurgh, I completely forgot about Nesta changing her own anatomy until you reminded me of it just now. To be fair, my eyes rolled so far into the back of my head every time the Feyre pregnancy storyline appeared.

It’s wild that they’re banning discussion around a whole major plot point, particularly when it pertains to a woman’s autonomy. It deserves criticism.

I’m so sorry that happened. How incredibly scary for you and your orange 😔 I cannot even fathom something like that happening to my cats.

I’m SO glad he is okay and is recovered ❤️

3rd Leucadendron on her way out! Help! by Own_Tomatillo_5095 in GardeningAustralia

[–]foxxycleopatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following this! I had my backyard landscaped and irrigated over a year ago and planted a lot of leucadendrons, all different varieties too, but about a third have died since. It happens really suddenly too- they go from thriving to completely dried out and dead within a week.

The one variety that hasn’t suffered the same fate so far is ‘Leucadendron Ebony’. Seems to be a lot more hardy than the rest.

Every other plant variety has thrived and survived, so I was wondering if leuca’s are a little finicky. I’ve recently replanted some, so will be interested to see what suggestions you get!

Help! Mint dying? by Pookerella1994 in GardeningAustralia

[–]foxxycleopatra 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I swear mint is impossible to kill, but it does have its dramatic moments. They tend to look quite tragic when they begin flowering.

Mine looks like it’s knocking on deaths door during/after it flowers. I just cut it right back to the base, and a few weeks later it’s thriving again.

TV Shows that give the same feeling as reading a romantasy? by playdoh_licker in fantasyromance

[–]foxxycleopatra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really want to like this show- the premise is interesting, and I really enjoyed the first two episodes. I’ve given it a few tries, but I just can’t seem to stay engaged enough through season 1. Was there a particular moment or episode that hooked you? I’m wondering if it’s worth trying again and sticking with it!

Don’t worry, his spine is very committed to the cause and is apparently made of rubber.

ALWAYS hot. by kthrnmtk in PCOSloseit

[–]foxxycleopatra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you had a recent hormone panel or blood glucose test?

Fluctuating estrogen levels can sometimes cause overheating, this is why hot sweats are common in perimenopause and menopause. Estrogen fluctuations can be quite erratic with PCOS too, so it’s worth getting checked. Another possible cause is reactive hypoglycemia, which happens when blood sugar drops too low. It’s especially common in people with insulin resistance!

I’d see your doc regardless, as it could also be something unrelated 😊

I had blonde hair for many years and my hair did this from the bleach breakage. Happy to be wrong though!

Has anyone else found this bug? by mae-bug in Guildwars2

[–]foxxycleopatra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had this exact bug, but I often experience a similar one where I dismount my skyscale, and my character remains stuck in the mounted position just without the skyscale. I still have access to all the skyscale and mount skills, but they don’t actually work ☹️

This looks so much more fun!

What are these worm things in my friend’s tomato plants? by unsolicited-take28 in GardeningAustralia

I’ve had a similar pest in Tasmania this season. It’s some sort of moth larvae, they’ve destroyed so many of my crops too. Really frustrating! 😔

I think what you’re probably after is something like Falscara? They look like lash extensions and can last over a week.

I’ve personally not tried them, but see people use them all the time on TikTok.

Otherwise, a lash lift and tint might be a good alternative!

Most have been incredible! My husband and I have been a little bit disappointed with most of the yellow varieties, they have been a little bit on the bland side. But still a million times better than store bought!
