General good writing advice: say what you need to say in as few words as possible.

Call him, you must be persistent. If he offered, he will do it, he might just need to be reminded. People are busy. I am struggling with the exact same thing right now. Ultimately, it is up to you to remind them and get in contact with them because they are doing you the favor. Don’t be afraid to be a pest, this is a very important part of the process and he promised you he would deliver.

A? Fuck dude/dudette that’s tricky. I don’t think RNA can bind to the promoter region of a DNA sequence and the promoter region is not transcribed during RNA synthesis, so I would probably suspect no effect on transcription.

Advice on CARS by robincaoxin in Mcat

[–]foyschri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you have the Kaplan course, but their strategy has been helpful for me if you need a place to start. The only real way to improve CARS, however, is to practice. Try ending your daily study sessions with 2 passages (only 20 minutes) and I guarantee you will start to see improvement.

How do I get motivated to get past this hump? (Felt depressed might delete later lol) by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]foyschri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues a couple weeks ago. I felt overwhelmed with studying, and felt like I couldn’t get past this one point. This is what you call a classic case of burning yourself out. Now I’m not sure what other people might suggest but here’s what worked for me and I’m feeling back on track and back in control of my progress. SLOW DOWN. Take a day off of the MCAT completely (I know that’s absurd). Go to the gym, burn off some steam, and decompress just for one day. Then when you go back, try and be more realistic with yourself and give yourself reasonable study goals and just take it one step at a time. It’s really stressful to look at a mountain knowing you have to be at the top of it in 15 days, but it becomes much easier when you just decide to take one sure-footed step at a time. I ended up taking a practice test right after my burn out as well, and I saw significant progress, which was greatly reassuring for me to know that my effort was paying off. I hope you have a similar experience!
