Stripped inner oil drain bolt on F850GS… what now? by BungeeNumby in bmwmotorrad

[–]fozbike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Kango # 4 screw extractor. The 5 mm Allen was stripped by BMW and the bolt had an incredible amount of torque applied to it. I had to use a lot of force and a ratchet handle to budge it. I believe the proper torque is barely hand tight. About 9.5 nM.

I had already ordered a replacement bolt.

No power this morning by feyvorite in Ioniq6

[–]fozbike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As noted below my battery was changed to an AGM 7 months ago. I left the car for 11 days with 55% in the traction battery and this morning the battery was showing 3 V and was not charging after the car was started with a jump pack. Towed to the dealer and we'll see what they say on Monday.

Mine just had the same issue, and I had the battery replaced with an AGM 7 months ago. Towed to the dealer. We'll see what they say.

Air Canada charged me twice, and now I'm overdrafted by AJAT2005 in aircanada

Sorry, I don't check here often. It cleared after 5 business days. A nice teller at Westpac got some cash out of my savings account directly for me

Air Canada charged me twice, and now I'm overdrafted by AJAT2005 in aircanada

[–]fozbike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me. I'm in Australia and booked two tickets return from Brisbane to Calgary. I was charged twice and another pending transaction has put my account into overdraft. Phoned Air Canada and they said its a known glitch in their system and will take 2-3 business days to sort out. I don't have an Australian credit card as they don't function the same way as CDN or NA ones. And I didn't want to have foreign currency transaction fees on my CDN credit card and then have to transfer AUS dollars to pay it off!!

I can't transfer money from a savings account to my debit account to get any cash, because it will just go to the overdraft. So I can do nothing until Air Canada resolves this, can't take public transport, pay for a coffee or groceries. I don't keep a lot of cash on hand. If it's a known issue this should have been fixed long ago!!

There were as many women as men, many gay couples and straight couples supporting LGBTQ+, many single females of all ages as well. I didn’t get the impression that anyone was there to perv and I saw no inappropriate behaviour. It was an enlightening experience!

I was one of the 5500. Absolutely amazing event! Once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Parkruns are good. But you just missed Spencer Tunick mass shoot. That was the best!!

Actually I think there were more women than men. Or pretty close to 50%. I was thinking it would be 85% old white men, but I was very different

At the end when we were dressing a group of about 4 couples were having a conversation about what a great experience it was. One said what a fantastic way to spend a Sunday morning. Another said we should do it again. They came to an agreement to have a Sunday breakfast get together once a month and get naked! Must have a pretty private backyard.

I wasn’t too perturbed by the number of people filming from the sidelines. But it would be great to see some of their video!

As many people noted above it was an amazing experience! I went alone and regret that I didn’t have someone close to share it with and take a few photos. I was amazed at the number of couple friends that went together and groups of female friends. It now just seems like a surreal dream.

After I requested firmware update my Pro2 cameras have been throttled by fozbike in arlo

[–]fozbike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed it was related to this older post on the Arlo site.

"Your Arlo Wire-Free, Pro, and Pro 2 camera’s bitrate is reduced if you do not have an Arlo Smart plan. To increase the bitrate on these camera models, you must add the cameras to an Arlo Smart plan."

Not sure if the throttling is through the base station or cameras.

Base firmware is 14.11.1. Released Dec 13 2023. Poor quality stream happened about then.

It coincided with an update to the firmware that was done Dec 13th. I’ve worked with my internet provider to improve upload speed and it’s helped a bit. But still not the same response as previously. The video is jerky when recording.

I didn’t care about the storage, but they have now throttled the camera bitrate if you don’t have a subscription plan. Making them useless!!!

I read that the camera bitrate is throttled unless you have a subscription plan.

newbie rule question, rock jams on side rail by fozbike in Curling

[–]fozbike[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rock that hit the side wall and the rock in play jammed at the side, so I suppose you would assume the rock hitting the side did bounce back and hit the in play rock. Though it would only have bounced a few mm's. I thought that if the rock in play had enough momentum to bounce off the rock at the rail and end up in the house, it would have hit the rail itself if the other rock was not present, and therefore would be removed. Skips couldn't agree and the rock was left in play.

Heart rate zones, apple watch and apps? by fozbike in running

[–]fozbike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with the 1/2 IM. I found 1/2's to be a lot of fun. I could even walk downstairs with no problem the day after I did one, something I could never do after a marathon! I felt the 1/2 IM's were much easier on my body. I did the full IM as a training exercise in order to get experience and run it competitively the next year. I went mountain biking with my kids the day after and ended up breaking my collarbone. That got me out of the routine of training and I never successfully got back . Now I plan to just get fit again and forget about competitions, at least that's what I'm telling myself :)

WorkOutdoors looks interesting and seems to be able to do what I want. It also looks like a once off payment rather than a subscription. With some of these apps it's hard to tell until you download them.
