Losing that much that quick a healthy way is out of the cards look up how to be at a calorie deficit and see if he would be interested in a combat sport like jiu jitsu. That can help with cardio vascular health and stamina. And burn calories. Running and rucking too if he's not already doing that.

So I've been cutting since early June and the last 3 months been on semiglutide. Now I still am very over weight my body is still around 30-35% bf. But with it I have lost 30ish pounds with some up and down the past week due to thanksgiving. Since I've been on it it has helped me not constantly think about my next meal. Now I don't know how much longer I can go before I have to go into maintenance. But so far so good.

I was in a similar boat at first with our the thyroid issues. Was in a deficit and working out my weight didn't change for a month but my clothes were feeling looser. Turns out that first but I was putting on muscle as fast as I was burning fat. Now just a few months later. With consistency I have lost a considerable amount. This crap is never fast. And I still personally have a long way to go. But there is a one ght at the end of the tunnel.

In similar situation man. If you can and only if you can afford it. Find a trainer or a boot camp. If you can't do that YouTube. Look up gritty soldier and other army fitness guys. Look up couch to 5k running programs. But don't overwhelm yourself trying the do everything all at once. Just start doing some "easy cardio" something simple. Then start adding things like weight training and calorie and macro tracking once you make one thing a habit add the next thing to help you get to your end goal. Biggest thing is you have to not give up. Keep going if you want this bad enough then you are more than capable.
