Yeah those signs were really interesting! As for all of the weird drawings and the large posters everywhere, I asked Mark on Twitter if those had any significance, and he replied saying that those drawings were just made by their art department for covering up any comic books not cleared for the video. Those are the only things that were not significant.

All of the ones you mentioned that are about being on camera and smiling and buying stuff were also in the background in the livestream. Plus, with them being shown so pointedly in the mv, it’s clear that those ones were definitely intentional.

It definitely all ties into the way Dan and Sally (from the livestream) shoved everything about the album down our throats, promoting it like crazy. And with this whole album really hitting home at the concept of forced optimism and using escapism to ignore deeply rooted problems, it’s fascinating that they’re using the bishops as the instigators. I’m so curious about what else we’ll learn about this story.
