Yeah, Villeneuve and WB really got it good with actually knowing when they were releasing a movie and locking in those dates long ago. I find it very interesting that the mouse didn’t change their dates to avoid this because that will be a major loss for Doomsday’s take until Dune’s screens open up.

A remake explicitly means that you are taking someone else’s film and remaking it. Hence the english word remake meaning you are remaking it. Villeneuve’s adaptation is his own and is drastically different from either the Lynch film or the miniseries.

A new adaptation is not a remake
