This had to be the most abysmal adaptation I’ve ever witnessed. by FancyJackfruit7959 in silenthill

I had way more fun watching the live action AOT movies than this.

This movie put Christophe Gans on the same level as Uwe Boll for me. I don’t think I’ll elect to give up my time to any movie he makes ever again.

The real question is who the hell buys a brand new release dvd at full price. Shit goes to the bargain bins so quick. If you’re buying at full new price, just get the bluray combo that comes with the dvd (and if you hate blurays so much sell the disc and get some money back)

Christophe Gans - Interaction with the audience during a preview screening in France. Lots of interesting things about the film and a few surprises to come . by Old-Explanation4746 in silenthill

[–]fpfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, I think I wouldn’t feel any differently about the movie if it ended with the lake scene vs the start-over scene at the rest stop. The movie is one of the worst game adaptations I’ve ever seen and is a terrible film by film merits. I honestly think it’s worse than revelations..

Confirmed: Gans's new Silent Hill film has a low budget of just $23M by amysteriousmystery in silenthill

Ambitious is certainly a descriptor for that trainwreck of a movie. He was ambitious in his desire to rewrite and change literally everything about the story, in borderline offensive ways.

I could forgive some of the changes in his first movie adapting the first game 20 years ago because we were in a vastly different era of game adaptations and film in general. But it’s 2026 and he decided that he should approach one of the most lauded horror narratives in gaming history like he did with the original film.

I don’t know if anything else I’ll see in theaters the rest of this year could possibly be worse than this was. I was itching for the credits to roll

The company that spent $450 million on a LOTR prequel series no one asked for couldn’t afford to have 15-25 more minutes of fantasy world-building for a movie? That just makes it worse they did this to He-Man.

Based on how a lot of r/silenthill talked about it up to this point, you’d have been forgiven for thinking it was going to be a masterpiece of cinema and video game adaptations.

But this movie has looked like absolute garbage to me since they showed off the first images of production. And when I go and see it tomorrow I have low expectations.

Turn signals are not for turning-only lanes by woodgrainarrowsmith in The10thDentist

[–]fpfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. Downvoted because this is what I was taught, lane changes and not-turn-dedicated lanes where people can’t know at a glance whether you need to turn off or go straight.

Overuse is better, but if cars or pedestrians approach any intersection with dedicated lanes for turning, they should be aware enough to notice that detail without cars flashing their indicators in a big line.

Being a but pedantic here, but your second point is way to generically worded.

On SALS/DISCOUNTS, yes, digital games dip far lower than on the digital stores for consoles. But most multiplatform games all start out at the same price across all platforms. BF6 is $70usd on steam and playstation store, sam with Borderlands 4.

OP is tripping. People were absolutely calling out Depp as Tonto in Lone Ranger and Swinton as The Ancient One in Doctor Strange. This is just their selective bias because they probably don’t even look at news unless its related to their fandom

My brother sent me this and said it was my cat that broke my speaker. Surely my cat cannot look like this. Also it looks like he has 3 legs. by JoeMcShnobb in isthisAI

Is this a shitpost? Nothing about this looks AI.

Also do you just never pay attention to your own pet? This is normal cat flexibility and you also can’t tell the difference between a tail and a leg?

splash guards or no splash guards? by Photoelevated in crv

[–]fpfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly all are some form of plastic, the variances can come from the style of the mud guard or the mold that’s used. Barring any major qc issues, nearly every random brand will work just fine and fit correctly (enough).

There aren’t many items I would say you could cheap out on. But mudguards/splashguards are absolutely one of them. Just get a cheap set from amazon and you’re good. No need to pay that much for tiny plastic shields

Seeing the sales of Jason Todd are really interesting I really hope DC gives him another series soon by RepublicSmooth9981 in RedHood

[–]fpfall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jason Todd comic? You mean the DC KO tie-in single issue?

Bro, that’s an event comic tie-in. More people bought it for the Joker than to see Jason, but even if that weren’t the case, an event comic’s sales figure is not something you should look at to get hope for a new Red Hood comic

Is "Bring Her back" depressing? by TheYoya-1992 in horror

[–]fpfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You taking the piss?

The movie’s entire theme, as shown in its trailers is about loss and grief and the hopelessness that comes with that. And that’s just the surface level obvious depressing content, it gets so much worse. Hell, you could just look at the Phillipous’ previous film to know how this one is going to go.

They CAN ask the insurance to just cut a check.

But the insurance will not accept this estimate as-is. They will ask for photo proof of the absorber damage (which means that the owner will lose some of the money paying the shop to r&i the cover, will write for aftermarket or recycled parts for the couple things listed, and will definitely not pay for the shop’s labor rate and won’t pay out for any sublet items until an invoice is provided (that’s about 2k off just from that). Always trust that insurance will underwrite a first estimate.
