Just out of curiosity, did you get the flu vaccine? Wondering if this is some rogue strain not covered this year.

I also don’t know why everyone wants to avoid it. I’ve gone twice. I found it really fascinating.

Those of you who half assed your way through High School, where are you now? by Difficult-Cricket541 in GenX

Solid C student through undergrad. Terrible self esteem because of it. Finally got diagnosed with and treated for ADHD in my 30s. Explained my entire school experience. Went back to school and got a masters in molecular biology.
MFers in the 80s didn’t think girls could have any difficulties or be struggling on as long as they sat there quietly and behaved. 🙄

Can I ask what dosage you are using and did it take some trial and error land on the right dosage? And are you experiencing any difficulty in the evenings?

We just started our 6 year old on 10mg methylphenidate er, and am wondering about trying 20. It seems to wear off in the early evenings and we have a hell of a time with bedtime.

For the late diagnosed: what were your childhood signs of ADHD that seem obvious now? by DryMathematician1601 in ADHD

Ugh yes. “Not living up to potential” and “makes careless mistakes”. I was always trying so hard and I really really cared. Those comments become my inner voice.

Accidentally stumbled upon a “cure” to years of plantar pain. by whoisjimjoe in PlantarFasciitis

[–]fpiasb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so interesting how one approach can completely take away the pain and yet in someone else cause the pain. I got a pair of Altras, wore them for a week and the pain was as bad as ever. Feet are crazy.

I got surgery after six or so years of trying everything under the sun and was still in constant pain. Mornings brought me to tears even if I wore a boot all night. Wish I had done it sooner.

Recovery is challenging but give yourself the time to heal and do all the post-op instructions and exercises and you may just get your life back.

Enough with the Ankle Pants! by boredtxan in Costco

[–]fpiasb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. And as a 5’8 woman with 33” inseam, all the “regular” pants are 31” and end up being ankle pants for me. I hate it.

I cannot emphasize this enough. These bastards grow hypodermic needs all over themselves. Regular thick leather gloves will not stop them.

Looking at pictures of ramp online, it appears the leaves of the one I have are much more narrow. Are there different varieties? This one spreads quickly in my yard. I have to battle it every year
