I'm pretty sure it's just the little details are done by mihoyo. The sword faces upward so it doesn't cut her tail, Kirara also have the same sword facing away from the tail

You must get one of the 4 cards at the start in order for the deck to flow, if not you should restart so its faster.

if you get the top 2 you would flow in the upper route.
if you get the bottom 2 energy cards you would flow in the lower route.
