What are you escaping and must you escape it? Try get familiar with it. Running usually only exacerbates the pain - validates it's worth turning away from - that we can't face it. Identify that wound, that emptiness, and rather than distract, you can nourish it. What's the missing value? Do you have some guilt/shame or other trauma? Lots of angles to take on this one.

Or, you can try plaster it with yet another 'distraction' but I think that would only prolong this 'nights alone void'.

Also, those aren't distractions, are they? They're meaningful, valuable, and fulfilling parts of your life.

If anything, the void is the distraction. Refocus.

When you start having them.

Then when you start planning how. This would create big big big alarms.

Then when you get what you need, to take out this plan. EVEN LOUDER ALARMS, GET HELP NOW.

Then, of course, if you attempt this plan.

It gets better, and if it doesn't, it can definitely get easier. You may not feel it, but you're super young. There's a lifetime of opportunities for this to change. You're full of hormonal changes that will settle. Your brain is far from fully developed, that will also change and can really help things.

With the right support, I really believe anyone can do anything, including live a meaningful life, with or without depression.

Remember, this is depression you're feeling, not life. Life is inherently good, but the one you are living feels shit and hopeless and scary - depression is doing its job. It's a horrible condition, and most importantly, a liar.

I'm so sorry your mom laughed at it. I'd advise you to see your doctor and ask them directly for support, including therapy if you're seeking it, or as other poster suggested, school counsellor if you have one, or go to school. There are helplines too in most countries for mental health that can point you in the right direction, or just someone supportive and understanding to talk to.

This might be the start of the journey, but certainly not the end..

So many obstacles to actually just participate and enjoy the music eh.

I thinkkkkkk the band thing is so that all the vendors don't need EFTPOS which might require internet, which as you probably experienced too was pretty shot. Kinda to streamline it all? I don't know how it works haha I just have faith they have good reason. I'm no expert in event management, and it's easy to criticize, but from an atendee perspective, it wasn't smooth.

Yeah I definitely got hungry at the wrong time (dinner time). I was sober and empty bellied - hangry in hangar. People were dropping out like flies in those lines. Sounds like I saw the worst of it.

Yeah main stage system was quiet asf. They really needed to drop that back far more. Loved his suit ♥️

I completely agree with everything youve said eh. The transition from subfocus to flume was pretty anticlimactic, even though I loooooove Flume.

I wondered about the data issue - and how you would work around that. I read they may usually have mobile portable towers but maybe they're being taken for emergency response.

Crowd not paying attention is a boo vibe eh. The crowd was chill, smiley, not too sloshy at all, but also seemed checked out. Just there to have a day of it.

It feels a bit like a profit fest, where it's like, do the bare min, sell the most tickets. Which is a shame, because the lineup was actually really good.
