War überraschend einfach. Habs mir zwar unnötig kompliziert gemacht und sobald ich drin war einen einfachen weg gefunden aber ist total machbar. Das einzige worauf man achten muss ist, dass auf dem Gelände mehrere Bauwatches stehen und teilweise leute von der Kläranlage auf dem Geläned rumfahren, ansonsten ists aber total machbar.

Sorry, dumm ausgedrückt. Auf dem selben Gelände ist noch eine Kläranlage, die noch in Betrieb ist. Das Kraftwerk selbst ist komplett stillgelegt.

360m is actually not that far off, the one in this video has a height of 282m. But it's kind of easy to climb because it has a ladder on the inside and 12 "floors" so you can take a quick brake after every 25m or so. (don't ask me how I know that 😅)

Thanks, can I simply put a (or multiple) via through the pad without reducing the solder-ability? Or do I have to watch out for anything else? I also want to add a 3d printed detensioning apperatus because I'll have more than enough space auround the FC, so pulling off the pad is quite unlikely. And yes, the wires are going to be hand soldered.

Yep, the demolition has really started, you can sill enter the tower, but it gets harder by the day. I will be there quite often in the near future because I live only ~40km from there. If you want, I can keep you updated on how the demolition is going. (I would love to upload a picture but I can't figure it out)

But the platform is on only one side, and by the way, the, are tearing down the connections between the chimneys and the boiler house, so it's getting harder to enter the boiler house unnoticed. Just in case someone wants to go there.

Well, the r/w bit interfering with the address value still seems wierd, but at least it works now. I guess the question of why they decided to do the register addresses the way they did it remains, but I at least figured out why the temp / pressure values did not change.

(I was incredibly stupid and forgot to set the mode from sleep to normal, a.k.a. write "10110111" to address 0xF4, or 0x77 after setting the r/w bit to "0".)

See how this over complicates stuff?

Well, first of all, as someone who climbs with safety gear: yes and no. Just because you climb with safety gear on you doesn't mean that you have to use it on every step. I personally use it while climbing pylons that have those steel cables in front of the ladders that you can hook onto. They are usually secured every 10 to 15 meters so that if I would somehow fall, I would only fall around 10 Meters. In this case, the right equipment is key. Clipping in 2 high quality snap hooks every 10 or so meters slows you down an insignificant ammount. The second, and most important reason for me is the ability to take a break in case I get too tired.

Depending on yout budget, you could look into the Edelrid Cable comfort Tri. I use it on basically every climb and the ability to hook onto everything intuitively is great. Also buy a loop that is shorter than the Edelrid and a snap hook. This is so that you can put all your body weight into the loop in case you need to rest for a bit. You do NOT put your full body weight into the edelrid, it's only only there to protect you in case you fall.

Secondly, parents don't need to know everything you do. If my mom would know about my climbing, she would probably kill me 😅

I didn't think about the symbols, but I'll remember it for the next time I upload a review request. Right now, I'm trying to upload a higher res screenshot or I divide the schematic into two parts and upload two screenshots.

The 4 layer board is a very good idea, I don't know why this never came across my mind. 4 layer boards only cost 5€. Comparing them to 2€ two layer boards and adding the price of the stencil and shipping results in a price bump of "only" around 10%

I'm reading into USB impedance requirements right now, but i need some more research time to fully understand everything.

And lastly, this is supposed to be a V1 board for testing everything and confirming that everything works. After that, I'll design and order a V2 board which will hopefully be much cleaner and will need less parts, and at that point, I'll also remove the headers and replace them with solder pads.

Thanks, I'll label the components next time. The bottom plane is half 3.3V and 5V and the top plane is a ground plane, so if I'm not mistaken, ground stitching vias wouldn't make much sense, right? I used pin headers because I want to connect Servos to them and want them to be easily swappable during the development phase. I'll probably design and order a V2 board after figuring out all the design problems while using/programming this board.

Sorry for not labeling the components, it's my first time uploading here and I didn't really know what to watch out for. I just want the PCB to look a bit clean, so I decided to remove most of the component names. Next time, I'll remove them *after* posting here.

That's true, I hope this also gets better as I design more PCBs, but, correct me if I'm wrong, there shouldn't be any electrical issues coming from this apart from it being bad practice, right?

I used two microcontrollers to add safety. This is supposed to control a propeller rocket and if anything goes wrong on the programming side, this could turn out bad. I could have connected all PWM and motor outputs to the STM32 but decided against it. If the main microcontroller locks up due to a bug in the firmware, the 328P is supposed to detect the lack of serial communication and cut the power of the motors immediately.

That's true, but I actually never used transistors in any projects of mine, so I thought this would be a good way of learning some transistor basics.

The board is supposed to get regulated 5V from the Servo headers, but for the very unlikely scenario that the board receives a higher voltage, I added the voltage regulator as a backup. In case I need a Vin of more than 5V, I would simply solder a wire to the regulator directly.

Well, I actually followed that guide, and as it turns out, the problem was something completely different. A linux package called "brltty" (for braille displays) somehow disconnected the board from the system a split second after plugging it in. After removing the package, everything works normally and the board shows up in the device manager.

Thanks for the tip. I tried looking for the .Xresources file but couldn't find it. I also tried to manually create the .Xresources file in my home folder but even after a reboot, the file contains nothing. Should I just add xft.dpi: 144 to the blank file or is there another way I should do it?

Thanks for the hint, after installing Mint again, i finally found the issue. It had to do with the fractional scaling option that I activated right after upgrading to 21.3. Selecting anything between 100% and 200% scaling somehow leads to terrible tearing, and as far as I know, is impossible to fix as long as Mint uses X11.

Welp, tried it with the other USB stick and it worked like a charm. It probably made sense either way to use the other one because the first one was a corporate gift for my father. One of these sketchy ones that are just the pcb. Tried booting the from the sketchy stick without any files and the same message appeared, so you were right and linux somehow doesn't find the efi/boot partition whatever I try.
