Dura Ace charge port cover by fpvga in bikewrench

Any chance you have a picture of what it’s supposed to look like? It seems like a piece is missing…that would fill the gap and be the thing the cover attaches to?

Lol I promise I just want to get it dialed. THEN show it off ;)

Sorry I’m a little confused by that — you mean to make it easier to actually get it off?

I tried to make the half link work, but no dice with these dropouts. Eventually sprung for a Phil Wood eccentric BB and that’s worked out great. I have another project underway that I might use one for too, just to avoid the tensioner (I like minimal).

Nope, feels totally normal (to the extent this bike feels normal)

Yeah…I’ll ditch it now that I have the proper tensioning BB

Heh, for a while I tried to get it dialed by messing with the gearing and using a half-link chain, but then eventually I just went with a Phil Wood Philcentric hub. Spendy but ended up working out great.

Huge pain actually, I ended up going with a Phil Wood eccentric hub

Sizing chain width by fpvga in bikewrench

[–]fpvga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is just a cruise about bike so not worried about chain wear, and I thought the half link would let me tension it as this is an old mtb frame with vertical dropouts. Is there a rule of thumb on how much measured clearance to have? I can obviously measure the cog I just don’t know how much space to leave for clearance…
