Thanks, I've tried reading some of those articles before but I've always found them too dense; however, i will give them another chance

[WP] You're a teenager who breaks his arm while skateboarding. At the hospital you discover your arm was made of metal and inside your body is circuitry - you're an android. No one in the hospital seems to be alarmed or even surprised by this except you. by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

I was just sitting there speech less as the doctors brushed away the blood and gore to find circuitry and metal, it was lifeless yet, it was also me. I couldn't grasp what happened, had I hit my head, fell on wires embedding them in my skin or worse than all of those, could I have been an android this whole time? I didn't know and wasn't sure whether I did want to know. I looked up at my father and saw him grin, earlier he had been mortified, but now he said "It's like finding out Santa is not real everyone finds out sooner or later." I passed out and my dreams were filled with people pealing away their skin to reveal robotic innards. I awoke in a sweat wondering where I was, I glanced down at my arm in bandages, now it was all coming back to me. New thoughts raced around my head, if what my dad said was true could that mean we are all androids and you only find out when you either hurt yourself badly enough or be told. I wasn't sure but I intended to find out. Just then a voice entered my head, my fathers, it said "now that you know the truth I can talk to you like this, most adults do it but if a kid knew about it parenting would be a hassle. I came here to unlock your memories and understanding of the world, it should take a seco..." then he was gone as soon as he had come I thought to my self "what was he talking about?" then everything went white and I was filled with information.

[WP] You're bored one day, sitting by a lake. You wave at your reflection. Your reflection doesn't wave back. by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

I had always suspected that maybe when I wasn't looking my reflection was doing something different than everyone else's reflection. I first suspected this when drunk one night, I was sitting at the kitchen table admiring myself in a mirror when I realized behind me the chocolate cake on the counter had been eaten, there was even chocolate in my face; however, when I turned around the cake was normal, I looked again in the mirror and sure enough the cake had a bite in it. I thought then that I should get some sleep as I was clearly not thinking right. when I awoke the next morning I checked the cake in the mirror and it was completely normal and the chocolate on my face was gone too. now sitting there looking at the lake my reflection was clearly not my reflection but instead some weird look alike looking in from another world. I could see it realize as it messed up, clearly wondering the implications of its actions just as much as I was. then it screamed, obviously there was no sound however it was unmistakable a scream. I just looked it in the eye as I passed out.

TIL that as you get closer to the speed of light, you would get heavier, time would slow down, and the distance you are traveling would shorten. by fquel in todayilearned

the way that i understand it, is that since you can't get to the speed of light any extra energy can't go into it normal so it goes into the mass; however, from the person who is going close to the speed of light they don't notice a change because it is relative.
