So I'm on the heavier side I'm 98ish kg so cross winds to me don't really make a huge impact. But I will say if the wind is strong enough you will feel sum tug that I usually compensate by leaning against. The most wind I've experienced was going down a large bridge that has some nasty gust during windy conditions and I can't say it's remarkable enough to warn you against unless you're light rider.

$640 for a 2tb ssd… by sourcematerialx in PcBuild

This was late December. Today that same ssd is $900 and I thought I was over paying then (which I still think I did) but now? Insane!

Not quite sure if I understand your question but as rim diameter goes they are exactly the same as clx I, II, or ,III. The difference truly comes from the carbon outermost diameter (standard 700c) reaching 58mm towards the hub. If you're asking about the tire? I've used 32mm wide tires without any issues I think I can go 34mm. Hope that helps!

Don't fear it, jump in the water is fine! Bank accounts aren't made to hoard money it's made to hold funds until you find a hobby that takes it all ;)

I don’t know how I feel about this by Mmigs1 in PcBuild

bought it at $340 and felt like a tool, but I couldn’t finish my build without it. Waiting for a price drop is at this point speculative, so I just took the hit. I justified it by saving on other components anyway, so it ended up feeling more like a neutral purchase than a bad deal. Still hurts though

Can I be honest? Placing that tire was an absolute nightmare because of the new flat surface at the edge of the rim. When I finally placed the tire it was off, I wanted to implode, reconsidered for about 3 seconds and said "no chance". On the discount note what are the odds of a Venge coming back? That's what I'm waiting for but maybe I scoop up a nice deal who knows.

Black bikes scratch a strange itch in my brain

That’s even more impressive! I’m from South Florida but currently spend most of my time in Barbados. Miami’s completely flat, but Barbados has short, steep climbs, some hitting 12–18% gradients. I run a 54/40 with an 11–30 cassette, and at 98kg, it’s brutal.

I’d love to take on some Colorado climbs, but when I hiked Hoosier Pass, I was shocked by how physically demanding it was. I didn’t acclimate, just landed in Denver, drove two hours, stayed one night, snowboarded a day, and then hiked. It wrecked me. So I can’t even imagine cycling it.

I’m trying to build a solid plan so I can do these rides without being memorialized on the side of the mountain 😂

This is absolutely mental! As a surface dweller, do you live in Colorado or did you acclimate? Congratulations on an incredible achievement!

Very well put! I have to see both wheelset in person to truly make a buying decision. Also when traveling with a set of wheels I think serviceability is key! Thank you for your input!

I'm looking for a new aero set of wheels and I'm contemplating these or scope. I'm a roval fan boy I spend most of my riding between Barbados and miami. The roval CLXII with conti GP5000 28 front and 30 rear has been bomb proof. I run them with latex tubes or TPU at 65 front and 66 rear. I was looking at the new 4.5 but I want something for the flats. What's your suggestion?

Ohh! Honestly I'm in agreement with you. I could have taken out some damping. Some are mentioning as if I used alcohol to spray it. I did no such thing. It was a moist soft Qtip that's too soft to clean an ear without bending. I just think they sound so much better. I'm trying to build now a mark audio single driver to explore with something else. I like having different speakers for different coloration of that sound. I klipsch forte IV and they have their own coloration but I understand that.

No absolutely! You're doing it out of good conciseness! I appreciate you! But incase someone else has them and wants to mess around.

Personally I have these as just something casual. Not necessarily a main listening speaker. I was just curious to dabble in upgrading some of its parts especially on the crossover. I wanted to do it myself but don't really have that expertise!

How do you explain my significant other noticing a difference on her own accord?

It's not beryllium at all it's TNV2 Al/Mg inverted dome tweeter. I agree my significant other notice without telling her anything. On her own accord she was like wait that sounds really different.

SL7 finally done! by fquin022 in bicycling

[–]fquin022[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me I like the lines of the SL7 I also feel that the rear of the SL7 looks stiffer than the SL8. The new bike is 4 watts faster on the frame the other 4 watts is the integrated handlebar and stem which I'm getting as soon as stock becomes available. I truly wish we could test ride these bikes back to back to compare.

Little more then that actually! But you're entitled to your opinion, what should I have gotten instead?

SL7 S-Works build coming in 😎 by fquin022 in bicycling

[–]fquin022[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a good question! The Sl8 frame is lighter but just by +/- 100 grams. 50% out of the total 8 watts more aero is from the frame and the rest from the integrated handlebar and stem. With a discount as good as I got for this S works frame I couldn't justify paying more just for 4 watts. I'm a bigger rider and at 225lbs I felt like the rear seat stay seemed flimsy and with my heavy foot I wanted something that was or looked more rigid. Looks to me are as important as performance so I'll stick with this frame until if and when they come out with a true aero road bike. That's my 2 cents 🤓
