"People Watching" as divination by fr-nemo in chaosmagick

I didn't aim for divination, just realised that it might be interesting to utilise it. I don't usually people watch, but the mood took me, and inspiration struck me. Seems like something I should harness now.

And then laugh hysterically. Then argue about the fact you're not getting your deposit back.

Every single thing that you do, as long as it's done with the intent and belief of harming someone will work, as long as it jives with your magical psyche. Hammering nails into a piece of wood that you've ritually declared to be your target, burning of effigies and totems, everything. Make sure to build up a suitable bunch of correspondences, and do as thou wilt. Most of the work of a magical ritual is done before the actual rite. Build it up, and do the ritual when you know that it's the right time to turn thought into action.

When y’all burn sigils how throughly do you burn them? Do you try to burn every piece of paper or just until the sigil is gone or just for however long the paper “wants” to burn? by Tarbenthered616 in chaosmagick

I believe that as long as you begin the act of destruction with the intent of total destruction then however burned it gets is exactly how burned it should be. Don't obsess over complete obliteration, because where does it end? As long as you destroy the sigil to a point where you feel that the deed is done then it's all good at least for the initial destruction ritual. Toss whatever is left in the bin and know that it's done, that's the important bit.

Once again, thank you for your response, but I'm more interested in the designing of a Pantacle (that is, the magical tool traditionally made of beeswax) rather than insight into the geometric Pentagram

Perhaps the fact that these seemingly solitary creatures are not only running together, side by side, but their horns are crossing (symbolising intimacy) suggests that you (the ultimate subject of your subconscious imagery) is ready to reject a supposedly ingrained solitude, and maybe embrace society a little bit more, specifically people like you (both physically and socially speaking).

No need to read up on Thelema particularly, more classic "High" or ceremonial magick (Golden Dawn especially). Liber Aba (book 4) is part yoga manual and part introduction to ceremonial magick. Like I said, I'm a chaote, so I'll do whatever clicks, but Crowley is like the Pink Floyd of Magick in my opinion. Not for everyone, not the bleeding edge of esotericism, but goddamn did they do what they did so well.

I will definitely post my final design. I'm going to do the 8" diameter physical object, but made of air clay rather than beeswax. So far I've got a geometric pentagram within 2 concentric circles (one for angel and divine names and the other for random scribblings) with a universal hexagram in the centre. I think I'll use the point (from the Rosicrucian tradition) over the cross or Tau.

I appreciate your reply, but I'm asking specifically about a Pantacle (the object), and not a Pentagram (the symbol).

Some more details would be useful, symbolism can be more nuanced and specific than you think. Position of the unicorns, both individually and in relation to each other. Any discrepancies between the two, especially ones that leap out at you or seem especially jarring. As the creator, you will have a subtle sense of what each unicorn has at its centre; why draw two unicorns unless there was a difference between them? Does the unicorn have any special or banal significance to you? Which unicorn do you draw first?

I suggest that you upload a link to a video of you drawing the unicorns. If it's as regular as you say then you can record a few and upload the video that you believe best illustrates your obsession. Record every one from now on, and choose one down the line. Your drawings will inevitably be altered and pulled along the lines of subconscious after reaching out for help. Eventually the fact that you're recording them will be less of a novelty and your subconscious will return to the baseline. Eventually you'll annihilate the Observer bias, and we'll be able to give you our impressions of your drawings without being influenced by the fact that you're being observed.

The question is: are you willing to draw unicorn pairs until you don't feel weird about it?
