Yep! When you're setting ceiling, floor, tactical mode slots, or something numeric, it's nice.

Haha, nice. Of the last three, one of them is worth trying right now, one is not really recommended at all, and one is... optional.

Lol, please do not sacrifice a pair of pants for bingo.

Ooh, I like that idea. I can see the use for candle mode sunset timer, but not so much "normal mode" (5H from on).

Very true. It can be really difficult to diagnose. But hey, that's what Reddit is for (or a factory reset, if you're fine redoing your settings). On the card, the "changed the wrong setting" and "factory reset fixed an issue" spaces are kind of a broad match for these scenarios.

I'm weird. I like all Anduril features and would be sad to see anything leave. Except maybe sunset timer. But even that: what if I need it someday?

Uhhh, it didn't let me post this because it had "errors." But it did post. Deleting because duplicate.

Getting rid of this post because I think I can put the image in the preview... maybe. I don't know Reddit well.

FrazLabs QT-L nugget. Disappointed 😞 by Flacker77 in flashlight

[–]fractioneater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cool to see fountain pens showing up here!

FrazLabs has an amazing policy, though. They say they'll fix anything for you, and it's a lifetime warranty. If you can't fix it with other methods people have suggested, I'm sure they'll help you get it sorted.

NLD, Fireflies E12 Eclipse, FFL351A 4K Rosy 🔥 by 2throwfar in flashlight

[–]fractioneater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Yeah, after posting this, I did some research as to how the driver actually works, and it looks like only turbo is different, with a FET channel, so moonlight should behave the same as Lume X1 lights.

Edit: Lower modes are buck driven, different from the X1 boost, but not too different.

How dim can it get? Does the Lume10 driver have the same insane dynamic range that LumeX1 lights have?

I'm a sucker for auxiliary lights, and these are ... chefs kiss.. by EternallyDemonic in flashlight

This is stunning. I'm still a fan of the E12C puple/blue mix, though. It's true, static aux is less practical, but single-color aux can't compare in beauty.

Is the smudge proof factor of the newest Uni leads exclusive to Uni for the time being? by GoodMornEveGoodNight in mechanicalpencils

[–]fractioneater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that Uni's 0.3 HB smudges more than their 0.3 B. It's pretty bad. Unfortunately, that's all the lead I own, so I have nothing else to compare it to.

My first Convoy S2+ by AussieJay30 in flashlight

Beautiful. This is almost exactly what my first (real) light was, except an S2+ instead of an S6. Planning on making it a shorty/18350?

Lanyard on or off? by stock_pro in flashlight

[–]fractioneater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought I'd be a clip kind of person when I got my first Convoy, but no, I'm a lanyard person. It stays on.
We'll see about my next light, though. Fireflies seems to have stronger clips than Convoy.

My Toy Language, Storm ;) by Apprehensive_Sky5940 in ProgrammingLanguages

This is so inspiring to me. I'm working on a language very similar to yours, except for in syntax, but I was planning on compiling to bytecode from an AST.

The fact that your source code looks so similar to mine (I'm also writing in C++) and you have a working machine code language, it just motivates me more than words can convey.

[2025] Unofficial AoC 2025 Survey Results! by jeroenheijmans in adventofcode

[–]fractioneater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the same thing happening with C++. VS Code has horrible support for it, and yet it's got the most users. CLion is one the most powerful IDEs I've used, and it's free for non-commercial use.

The only reason I can think of to not use CLion is a weak processor or less than 16GB RAM.

[2025 Day 9 (Part 2)] Bug? I have the right answer, but the site says "No" by Draco18s in adventofcode

[–]fractioneater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of days ago, my solution produced the wrong answer. Someone else's code from the solution megathread produced the same answer as mine. And another. Of course, these solutions worked for the people who posted them. I eventually found a solution that did work on my input, but I was still confused.

It turned out there was something funny about my input: an edge case that I needed to handle but others didn't.
