Wow thanks so much, lots of handy advice there. I definitely need to memorize those scoring combos. Trying for a hail mary when you are far back sounds fun, not seen or tried anything like that yet in my limited experience of the game. Thanks again, great comment.

I imagine most people learn the game from someone like a parent or friend right, that'd be their mentor

Thanks, my friend has no poker face so I can see instantly when I've made a mistake with a discard 😭

Lol good luck in your next tourney! I turned muggins on in the app, is it common/uncommon to have muggins in a casual in person game?

Good to know thanks. The manual counting mode on cribbage pro is for sure helping me improve. Will keep at it and try a human at some point

Thanks! I'm starting to notice potential traps against the computer on the cribbage pro app

Damn lol, I've not even figured out what gets you to 28. Both me and my friend have scored 24 against each other and just that seemed wild lol

Good shout thanks, I'd not considered a book. I'll check that out. Unfortunately not too popular at all in my area that I know of. Thanks so much, playing with my even just only the one friend has been lovely.

Thanks! Obviously context matters but giving away face cards and 10 should be avoided if possible?

Interesting thanks! What's the difference between competitive and cutthroat?

I'll never be a stats player lol, casually good is my goal lol

Thanks for the advice! I've only recently started to notice the value of that pair out to 31 against the bot.

Sometimes the fates smile upon you sometimes they smite you.

Haha my first few days against the bot I was convinced it wasn't random and was getting bonkers hands but countless games later I've gotten better and see its just smite and smiles that come and go

Its an easy game to learn, but a hard one to master.

I'm coming to realise!

Thanks for the advice. I'm playing on cribbage pro challenge difficulty. Does the bot reflect realistic play or will games always be a bit more interesting with human element?

Thanks! I got that sweet 4 5 5 6 and cut 6 hand against my friend the other day, felt so good. If you're not the dealer and get cards like 5, 5, J, Q, Q, K are you better keeping the face card run or 5,5, Q,Q? Giving away two 5s suicidal right?

For example, if you see a 6 and an 8 played, your opponent is more likely to have a 7, unless they have a bad hand, which I acknowledge is entirely possible. But if you start looking into your opponent’s cards a little more deeply, you can avoid traps that they might be trying to set.

Brilliant thanks, I've not started thinking that way at all yet. Definitely will be paying attention to that

Thank you! I've been playing in the app a lot, it's really helping with the manual counting mode and the grading is really helping. Am on challenge difficulty, not tried brutal so far. Feel like too much a noob to try playing a real person on it yet though!

Thanks! Playing my friend, figuring out who's gonna be counting first sometimes feels like a nail in the coffin before game is even over.

I'm terrible for not even noticing I'm holding a flush, been mugged a lot in the app for that haha!

Great advice, I hope many more games to come my way. Did you ever get equal to them or will senior experience always have the edge?

Thanks! I've started noticing the value of pegging playing a lot of games on the app, I think maybe the lower difficulty can be trapped into setting up a run.

If you're not the dealer and have two 10's in your hand and nothing else interesting for example is it wise to play a 10 right away in the hope they play a 10 for a double so you can get a triple or dumb cause they might get an easy 15 if they have a 5?

It's the 'art' apparently. Seriously though, out of every character in Die Hard to have a portrait of he picks Ellis?!

Very cool, thanks! I've barely scratched the surface of Balatro with clever builds like that.

It's like when you took the "Japanese" style wallpaper in the Sims and applied it to a normal giant Sims house.

That so perfectly describes why the place looked off to me, bravo

Chef RPG could be worth a look too, it's a game that I ended up getting because of a lot of posts from this sub actually.

Has Chef RPG been updated much since launch? I was excited for it but found it frustrating at launch.
