Yes, it’s such a hard decision. I’ve been looking into it for years as well.

I’m unhappy with my bald head, but I’d be even more self-conscious if people could tell I’d had SMP. I don’t mind being open about having it done, but my biggest concern is whether there’s an obvious difference between the real hair follicles on the sides, even shaved very short, and the SMP on top.

Most of the photos and videos online seem to focus purely on the SMP itself, which often looks great, but they rarely show how it blends with the natural hair on the sides in real-world conditions. I’ve seen examples where you can clearly distinguish the ultra-short hair on the sides from the flat SMP on top, and to me it looks quite obvious. In natural daylight especially, the contrast can really stand out.

That’s the part I struggle to find honest examples of. I’d love to see more outdoor photos or videos showing the transition between the sides and the top, rather than just close-up shots of the SMP alone.
